Charlie walked towards the large, falling apart house. She was now even more nervous then before; not only would she be meeting the entire Weasley family, but the house looked to be in danger of collapsing. Sighing, she put down her trunk, and let Fred out of his cage. "Find Hugo and peck him awake for me, will you?" Fred flew into the top floor window, and Charlie waited. |

Hugo ran down the steps and met Charlie in the yard, Fred pecking at him the entire way. "Can you get your bird to stop?" he asked, flapping his arms to get the bird away. Finally, it stopped, and he smiled at her. "Good summer so far?" he asked. He noticed her staring at the house and grinned even wider. "It's great, isn't it?" he said. He knew she was nervous, so he put his arm around her. "It'll be okay," he said. "Everyone will love you. And don't worry, they barely tortured the last friend I brought here." he laughed, remembering what James and Fred had done to Connor Finnegan two summers ago. For some reason he hadn't been back since. |

Riley found himself wrapping his arms around his chest as he casually wandered up to Lucy's house. The air was cool and even Riley wasn't immune to the cold. He wasn't appropriately dressed either. He wore a t-shirt, fairly plane, a solid shade of blue, and a pair of washed-out jeans. Clearly he should have factored in the weather before leaving for her home. She was the only reason he'd restrained himself from spending christmas with his mother in Africa. Riley could have actually brought Lucy to Africa, but he didn't want her meeting his mother, well not yet. Also, her family probably wouldn't approve. You know, with all of those diseases floating about out there. He readjusted his eyes to rest on the tall house, which actually looked like it was about to collapse, but simply shrugged and walked up to the front door. Taking a deep breath, he firmly knocked on the door a couple of times, patiently awaiting an answer. |

Lucy had been waiting for Riley to arrive, it was the highlight of her winter break so far. She had spent most of her break here at the Burrow with her grandparents and some of her cousins. Her father had been busy with work again, and was staying in London. Her mother was with him, but she had been out here a few times to see Lucy. It had been a very relaxing break so far, she had been hoping to see her sister too, but there was still time for that. She jumped up from the couch when she heard the knock on the door, and grin starting to spread across the face. She opened the door to see Riley standing there, she flung her arms around his neck, Hey boyfriend. She took a step back realizing that he must be pretty cold, Wanna come in? Its kinda chilly out. |

A grin parted on Riley's face, as Lucy appeared at the door with open arms. Before she pulled away, Riley was able to catch a quick kiss on her cheek, before stepping inside, his eyes instinctively surveying her home. ''Hey baby, Merry Christmas.'' he exclaimed, although it was a few days late. It was the first time he'd spoken to her over winter anyway. ''I've got you something for christmas, but its at the school.'' Riley continued, as he quietly closed the door behind him. Seeing as he didn't go over to Africa this winter, he got his mother to send something specific over. |

Lucy smiled when she pulled away from Riley and he made his way into the house. It was weird, she had never had a boy over to the Burrow before. Well, at least not a boyfriend type boy. She looked at him curiously when he said he had her present at school. Actually thats kinda a good thing. I had your present, but I forgot to stick it in my trunk when I came home, so its still at school. She gave him a small smile, she had found this really great gift for him in Hogsmeade, she still couldn't believe that she forgot it. She walked with him into the living room and sat down on a couch, So have you gotten to talk to you mum? Lucy knew that Riley had chosen to stay here rather than going to visit his mother for Christmas. She felt bad about being the cause, but she was glad that Riley was here. |

Riley followed her into the living room, and care freely fell back onto her sofa. ''Well, seeing as christmas has gone already, d'you fancy telling me what you got me?'' Riley rhetorically asked, his lips parting to form a cheesy grin. His grin gradually began to fade as he listened to her question, he hardly spends anytime with her, and the next time he'd probably get to see her, will be in the summer. Seven months away! ''No, I didn't - but she's fine with me staying. Well, I had to tell it was because of the girlfriend.'' he exclaimed, his eyes discreetly scanning the surroundings he was in. ''I could have actually brought you to.. Africa, but well, I didn't think you'd want to go, and I didn't think you parents would approve.'' |

Lucy pursed her lips thoughtfully before breaking into a laugh, Even if its after Christmas, you still don't get to know what I got you. It would take away all the surprise! She nudged him playfully on the shoulder. She listened thoughtfully as he talked about his mother and taking Luce to Africa. You told her I was the reason? She knew it was true, but she didn't want Riley's mum to hate her for keeping her son away from her. That actually would have been a lot of fun to go to Africa. But I think my father would have absolutely freaked out, when I told him. Probably would have tried to have you arrested for kidnapping or something equally crazy. She shook her head, trying to imagine her fathers reaction to her going somewhere with a boy, even if it was to a quidditch match. |
