Slytherin Hogwarts University Champion... no one but Eris could have thought of it. Maybe it was her ego, maybe it was confidence, maybe it was fate... but Eris knew from the moment the announcement was made about the competition, she knew she had to be chosen to compete. Eris was a woman who always had to come out of top, the victor, she couldn't, wouldn't, accept anything less than success and victory. So when it was announced she had risen to the rank of Slytherin University Champion, she knew victory for her was all that much closer. Sure this was supposed to promote house unity and friendly rivalry... but reputations were at steak, and Ms. Yaxley wanted to make sure that there wasn't a sliver of a doubt in anyone's mind who the real Hogwarts Champion was. But first... she needed to make it through this first task.

That morning, when she knew it was time to begin, she dressed herself appropriately and wrapped herself tightly in her Slytherin robes, taking extra measures to ward off the morning chill with a silver and emerald scarf wound around her neck. She knew it would be a mentally and physically demanding challenge, so she needed to focus, clear her mind, and be prepared for anything. Rumors, whispers of what the task might hold reached her ears weeks prior to the day, but now, all of those soft voices faded to nothing, allowing her to have little to no distraction aside from her own conscious thoughts. Clarity, patience, and organization would be her strength today... she just had to make sure that things went her way when she executed her plans.

When she found herself mentally ready, she exited the dungeons and began to make her way to the ground, not sure what to expect, whom to look for, and how to go about completing her task. This was something she wasn't familiar with, not being in control and pulling the strings, so it was a slight bother to her, but she forced herself through her issues in order for the sake of success. It was then, shortly after her thoughts when she was just about to exit the castle, she felt a chill run down her spine, and a cool voice behind her make it's presence known.

"As expected... I would assume nothing less than the Slytherin Champion to be ahead of schedule and driven to succeed so early this morning, Ms. Yaxley." Eris paused, turning around to spot the Bloody Baron mere feet from her, offering him a pleasant smile and a nod of her head. "Good morning. Of course, nothing less, Bloody Baron." she stated calmly. Remaining a proper young woman, she gave the ghost her undivided attention. She and the Baron were on very well terms, so she was certain anything he had to say would be of utmost importance to hold her from her task, or he wouldn't have held her up at all. "You always were a pride of the house. Now, to business. I'm here to inform you of the requirements in your first task."

Eris nodded, her mind snapping clear again as she prepared herself to pick up on the information the Baron was about to give her. "I see... whenever you're ready." she stated, wishing she had a piece of parchment or something to write on, but hoped he memory would suffice. "The first part of your task will be to brew an invisibility potion. This should not be anything new to you, basic O.W.L. material. Do you remember the ingredients, Ms. Yaxley?" he asked, his cold, black, beady eyes staring her down inquisitively. Eris smiled softly, nodding her head slowly. "Of course, sir. Half a cauldron of water, eight Lacewing Fly Wings for transparency, four Cherries for invisibility, six Chameleon Scales or disillusionment, two Fluxweed to alter appearances, three Kelpie Mane Hairs to morph physicalities, and finally, a dash of Standard Herb Ingredients in order to tie the aforementioned ingredients together." she stated calmly, the Baron offering her the faintest of smiles. He may have been satisfied with her answer, but hardly impressed.

"Good... then perhaps it is safe to assume to remember how to brew the potion properly without it backfiring like a bad polyjuice potion gone wrong?" he asked, watching her closely to see if she hesitated to faltered slightly. Being the champion of his house was a high pressure situation, and heavily scrutinized by all to make sure that the chosen student was capable in all aspects of completing the tasks laid before them. And the Baron was no easy man to convince. Eris leaned her head back, locking her eyes with his fearlessly. "Indeed, that I do. But it's a very tedious and time consuming task that I should quickly get to work on rather than go over it's delicate steps of brewing." she said firmly, watching him carefully. It seemed he didn't care much for her answer, but he accepted it none the less. "Excellent... well then, upon completing the task, you will then be instructed on how to progress once you arrive at the edge of the forest. Good day, Ms. Yaxley, fair well." and with that, he was gone, vanished in thin air.

In truth, Eris couldn't remember for the life of her how to brew it, but telling the Baron she had forgotten was far too large of a blow to her pride to admit she didn't know or had forgotten something. Taking a deep breath, there was a soft pop as she vanished from the entrance hall, and appeared deep in the dungeons in the potions room. Immediately, she started to go through the cabinets and pick up her ingredients, all while searching the bookshelf for a basic O.W.L. master potions book. When she had everything measured and laid out, she flipped through the pages furiously, murmuring softly to herself in the process. "Where in... fuck... bloody hell... hair raising... damnit.. no... invigora-... invisibility!" she exclaimed, her eyes widening as she slammed the book down, partly in frustration, but partly in relief. Finally, she had what she needed.

Filling the cauldron with water, she began with her Fluxweed, dropping both into the cauldron and stirring clockwise twenty two times to allow the plant to dissolve properly before adding the eight Lacewing Fly Wings, stirring now counterclockwise thirteen times. After, she grabbed her four Cherries. With those, she also added the three Kelpie Mane Hairs and the six Chameleon scales, increasing the heat under the cauldron and letting it boil for ten minutes for all of the ingredients to properly dissolve and mix, stirring clockwise and counterclockwise once every minute. After ten minutes, she added the last of her filler, the Standard Herbs, to solidify the bond of the potion, watching the color turn from a repulsive pea green to a soft shade of teal. From what she could remember, this had to be correct... and with that, took the potion as it was. In a hurry, she filled two vials with the liquid, shoving it in her pockets before taking a deep breath. This was just the beginning... the easy part. She could only imagine where it would lead.

With another soft pop, Eris vanished from the dungeons, and carefully landed herself by the forests edge. By the lack of visuals of other students, she assumed she was either ahead, or behind schedule, depending on how well her competitors were fairing in the task. Reaching into her pockets, the blonde let out a soft sight, a calm washing over her once more as she gripped the vials tightly. "One down... what's next on my list." she asked herself calmly. It wasn't fear or anxiety gripping her... no... it was adrenaline... the anticipation of victory that motivated her. And for now, this task wasn't looking to be so bad.

Soon after you call out to the trees you hear a loud voice echoing all around you. The source of the voice is unknown and the voice has been distorted in a way so that you can not tell if it is male or female.

"Hello and congratulations once again, Eris Yaxley, on being chosen as a Hogwarts University Slytherin House Champion! If you are indeed here as instructed this means you have completed the first part of this task. Let's hope your potion is brewed correctly! You will need the mask of invisibility tonight as you will have to work your way out from the center of the Forbidden Forest! All living creatures here were not removed and they were not warned of your presence. You have exactly two hours to make your way back to the edge of the forest. If you run into any trouble simply send red sparks into the air and aid will soon find you. I hope you have plenty of spells and jinxes in your arsenal because you will surely need them to make it out!

If you look to your right you will notice a one golden galleon. Retrieve it and you will soon be transported to your designated area in the center of the forest.

Good Luck Eris Yaxley, and may the best house win!"

In the interest of time you will only need to post twice. Once after this one and again after another from me. be sure to use the spells/jinxes/charms that were in the rules and information thread.
