(Sorry for the backstory overkill guys, he's a character developed over a long period of time. I tried to shorten it as much as possible while keeping all the good bits in) Name: Richter Foks (True name: Richter Amsel) Age: 27 Species: Grey wolf Nationality: Russian (In reality, German) Height: 5'7" Weight: 145lbs Hair: Dark Brown (long, styled in front, back tied into a ponytail) Eyes: Hazel/Grey (blind in the left eye) History: As an orphaned German boy taken in by a wealthy family of Russian foxes, Richter had a turbulent, but reasonably happy childhood. However, the road to his demise began at the age of 17, when he fell in love with the daughter of his adoptive parents, Felicia, who was a year older than him. Even though he was technically her brother, he couldn't help but follow his heart. To make things worse, she was already married to his best friend, Raizo Takeba. Felicia realized his affections however, and returned his advances. They began to see eachother in secret. By age 23, Richter was an avid study of both religious and scientific pursuits. He became an authority on the occult and supernatural, proving and disproving many old myths and legends. One day, while studying the existence of deities, Richter had a breakthrough; one so shocking that he decided to reveal it to the masses in a documentary. The church in his village however, a long corrupt entity, didn't like the fact that he was about to challenge the very essence of what they taught for centuries. In a swift act of covering their own tails, they had Richter framed for the robbery and murder of a church official, as well as destroyed his documentary. Though obviously surprised when he returned home that cold winter's night to a squad of officers with a warrant for his arrest...deep down, he knew who had framed him. As they tried him, Richter could not produce an alibi, for he was unwilling to reveal the fact that he had been sleeping with his best friend's wife for years, his sister nonetheless. About to be sent to Siberia for his "crimes" Felicia begged her husband to help him. With intervention from both his and his best friend's families, Richter was instead banished for a decade. He now wanders the world, confused, angry and alone. He has not abandoned his previous studies, but he has gained a pair of new pursuits; revenge and repentance. Abilities/Afflictions: Richter, even as a child was very intelligent, though more "street smart" than "book smart". He had an I.Q. of 145 at the age of 14, and while he's never taken another test, it's assumed that he only grew wiser. As a member of a noble family, expected to eventually join the military as an officer, Richter was trained in Russian martial arts as well as marksmanship. He favors antique weaponry, taking up his own country's longsword fighting style as a hobby and using antique guns. Despite being trained in gunplay, he is a bad shot, and as such, prefers to use his sword or his fists unless a gun is necessary. He fights using Sambo, a mostly leverage and counter based martial art. He's fairly short, with a light frame (5'7", 145lbs) and as such, not the strongest person in the world. He has a fear of water, as he cannot swim, but water will not keep him away from where he's needed. Aside from his physical and mental abilities, Richter has no special powers and as such must use tactics and skill to overcome opponents who have such advantages over him. Personality: Richter was known as a cheerful, loving person. Always there when he was needed, he didn't develop the same snobbery most nobles get, as he knew the pain of the street from his younger days. This kind, gentle side however, is now hidden under a cold mask of distrust. It is hard to get him to open up to anyone, but he is generally nicer to females, as they remind him of his beloved Felicia. He has a deep respect for lovers and for hard workers, while he looks down upon cowards and abusive authority figures. Richter can be incredibly impatient, cruel, antisocial, and a bit of a hypocrite at times, a result of his anger...but he clings to those he trusts and works selflessly to help them in any way, his form of atonement for his previous betrayal. Needless to say, those he trusts are few and far in between. Issues/Fun Facts and whatnot: Richter is blind in his left eye, a wound received in a training accident (and is part of the reason for his poor accuracy) He suffers from a guilt stricken depression, as well as occasional lapses of violent rage. He wishes to return to his love more than anything, but he feels as if he must repay his friend somehow. Richter is German for "judge" and Foks is Russian for "fox". However, his real surname, Amsel, means "blackbird". He has an obsession with wings, both because of his original family name and because they represent the ethereal beings he studies. Fittingly, he took a pair of black angel wings draped around a hammer as his crest (The hammer is one half of the Russian flag's hammer and sickle, symbolizing the fact that he is not truly Russian) His history is loosely based off the song "Over the Hills" by Gary Moore (Nightwish also did an amazing cover of it) the rest is all original story. Coincidentally, Richter has traits that allow him to fit into all three Kitfox time periods. The antiques/swordwork fit the steampunk age, the military and scientific background leans more towards Stolen Generation, and the supernatural bit works with Restored Generation. Haha yeah! Go Germany! Oy, tell him to ease up on the throws and submissions next time. I always found Sambo impressive because of how little strength one needs to do so much damage, although being strong probably makes it easier XD They don't just break your arm, they break your soul, and then your arm! Do you know what move he did to you? Maybe I'll recognize it, I've been studying Sambo for about nine years now, I usually decide to throw a little bit of me into my characters. |

I do not recall what he called it unfourtionately (he spoke english, but every so often he'd use Russian). All I know is one second his fist was on the back of my neck, the next his foot hit my shin, the next i was face to floor, my right arm twisted in the air. I showed him some Tai Kwon Do in return. We're even, lol. |

To be honest, I havent practiced for awhile. I was twelve when I learned the stuff lol. We learned our teacher like children a little too much so we removed ourselves very quickly. The one before him was a karate teacher, and he wasent that good himself (fell over trying to do round house kick). Needless to say, what I know is from memory. |

You know, I probably should gouge both my own eyes out for such an error, thank you for catching that XD and remind me not to write at 3am when I'm tired. My shame...it is irrevocable and inconceivable. Derp... |

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. So which eye is it? I NEED the information or I will explode! I do that sometimes... it's great fun. Edit: OIC... you changed it. YAY I wuz right! Is there a scar there or just the eye blind? Edited by UmiNigai, Mar 28 2011, 09:54 PM.

What? You mean derp? I just use it whenever I accidentally do something stupid or foolish. Is that...not...what it means? XD
There's a scar, one that extends from above the eyebrow to below the ear. Congrats on guessing correctly! Don't need you exploding at the moment X3 maybe next time, after I find my flame retardant house shoes. |
