Kal Southclaw Species: Coyote Height 5' 6" When Kerl was evicted from his mothers (Wolf) family, his fathers extended (Coyote) family took him in. Kal and Kerl were of the same age, so grew up together, usually referring to each other as cousin despite no actual blood ties. I'll add more detail in the morning when I'm awake! Enjoy! |

My apologys for not replying sooner, it's been a little hectic here, so i'll probably post the full thing tommorow, now. However, what I can say is your comment proves the drawing needs to be re-worked. Kal is supposed to be the male of a brother-sister pair, but 4/4 people seeing the picture thought it was a girl.... ah well! Both Kal and Skye are being field tested in the VS match, and might pop up later elsewhere.... Regards!

Eve would like to stress that she knew that your drawing was male. She apologizes for the misunderstanding, she was trying to crack a joke i think. Cant wait to see the full bio myself. |

Ah,ok ! That has set a challenge to write both Kal's and Skye's background well. One female coyote, coming up! I've got a two and a half hour + train journey tommorow, so I'll have some time to write! |

Ok, this ended up being a little longer then planned. However, this is a background for three charachters in one, so here goes! Please tell me what you think! I hope it was worth the wait! Kal and Skye Southclaw are twins, born to the original Southclaw family which had once been a native American tribe. However they had shifted, with traditional Coyote agility, to integrate with the newcomers as scouts and guides, as well as traders for goods grown amongst the tribes, such as tobacco (OOC: Coyote in legend is attributed with stealing Tobacco from the sun, so them trading in it isn’t immensely surprising). Kal and Skye were raised side by side, being taught to form the next generation of merchants in what had evolved from an ex-tribe to a large company, primarily formed of coyotes but including elements of Foxes and Crows as well. The pair were taught within the family, learning a wide variety of skills from routine trading through to “finding things before other people lose them”, detection and several self defense styles, being a wiry species the ‘yotes had learnt to fight to defend firstly their homes and then their merchandise from marauders. Kal, even at a young age, had proved to be a remarkably headstrong individual but was lucky enough to have the talent to back it up. Skye, on the other hand, was more stayed then her outspoken brother, but when Kal got into trouble, she could often be found nearby to clear her errant brother from whatever mess he’d landed himself in. Both of their lives changed when Kerl arrived. The coy-wolf was of the same age as they were, but had been born outside the company (see Kerl’s background). He was put into their classes, but initially Kal didn’t like him, he was an outsider and always acted aloof to the twins. Skye, on the other hand, had noticed the sign of scars on the newcomers body, but her attempts to speak to him had always been avoided. This pattern ended when Kal decided to prank Kerl, setting up a fairly elaborate booby trap in one of the trading company’s spare store-rooms. Kal used his silver tongue to persuade the Coy-Wolf that he needed to go and fetch something from the room. Kal followed him at a distance and managed to watch as the coy-wolf picked up the rigged crate, activating the paint-gun he’d set up above the door. The result was the newcomer standing in the room, dripping in blue and yellow paint. What Kal had underestimated though was just how sharp the Coy-Wolfs senses were and how the taller build granted by his half-wolf heritage allowed him to move faster than even he could. Skye stepped out of another room in the building just in time for her brother to cannonball into her, the Coy-Wolf catching up just at that moment with the result that all three landed in an untidy, paint smeared heap. To the surprise of the Southclaws, the Coy-Wolf then started laughing, declaring it was the most fun he’d had in ages. The other joined in then, laughing at each other’s paint-smeared states until one of the older clan members rounded them up and marched them off to be cleaned, still sniggering. The twins had made a lasting friend, and Kerl had finally shaken the scars of his past. Unfortunately, the happy state couldn’t last forever….. |
