Characters name: Peter Push Race & Gender: Otter, male Age, actual and apparent: 30 body of 25 Height and Build: 6 feet, lithe and agile Hair & Eyes: Light brown hair with white torso, Striking violet eyes Physical description: Peter is built like a swimmer. His muscles, though not pronounced are apparent to a casual looker and he moves with surprising speed, where if a person blinks the distance between the two may close from four feet too an inch. Often seen with a Pair of circular goggles perched on his head, with a pair of wires running down to a covered wooden box the size of a lunch box on his belt, and a pair of sheathed knives on his hip, and usually garbed in a black sleeveless T-shirt (or nearest equivalent) and leather reinforced trousers. Push’s stance shows a constant readiness of a mix of paranoia, rage, and survival instinct. Career & Skills: Push has always been a crook, and has always taken the easy way to make cash. He has been known to do most every crime under the sun, even murder for the right price, but has never committed a sex crime nor would any amount persuade him to. His skills lie in stealth and knife-work, and he always finds a true thrill in high end thievery, and has been known to have an almost encyclopaedic knowledge surrounding antiques and their worth, as well as a memorised how to break of almost every conventional lock, though there have been some surprises. Weapons: A pair of knives, each with a blade of seven inches if they were straight, instead having a curved end that takes the final three inches. He has had some experience with fire-arms and could use them well enough, but always prefers the thrill of close combat, as he feels it is far more skilful than gun play. Equipment: Along with his knives, Push has two other pieces of equipment, one being a treasure almost beyond worth. On his right wrist is a slightly bulky leather band with four straps holding it together. However if two of the straps are undone, part of the band unfolds to reveal his lock picking tools in neat little sheaths, and a small rag for cleaning purposes. On his head are his Dark view goggles. When set over his eyes, Push activates the box on the back of his belt, and the goggle lenses make the darkness disappear, replaced instead with a world of a greenish tinge. However, this effect has a limit of 45 minutes, and must spend a day recharging after use. Push has no idea how they work, only that he took them from a dead bounty hunter, and has not had the need to look inside the strange wooden box. Mental description: Push is always on edge, even when he’s having a beer and trying to relax. His mind constantly tries to work out escape routes and possible threats, and it is part of the reason he has survived. He always tries to keep a jovial tone, but his words are tinged with the darkness, fed by the aggressive place his mind always inhabits. Background: Ever since he was a child, Push has always lived in the criminal fraternity. He was a pickpocket, then a petty burglar, a helper on hold-ups. However he was caught and convicted, and for the mass of crimes sentenced to a most vicious prison, and languished there from the age of 13 to 20, scarring his mind with horror and building his levels of animal rage and paranoia. It was here also he developed a keen mind for the higher aspects of thievery, learning from some of the older masters, as well as skills to help him hide in the dark when the wolf pack came a calling. Soon after his twentieth, he performed an escape by picking the lock of his cell, and getting out, killing three guards on the way. He later gained passage to the Americas and worked for a while there, but was caught once more, with his blades sunk into a debtor’s heart. He was sentenced to death, but on the night before his execution, Push escaped again, and found his way across the west and back again, finally arriving on his 26th back in New York, and feeling homesick for Europe. He found passage on a ship, and outran his American hunters and made a tour of Europe four three years with a new partner, Dan Becker, an American bear, as The Duo, who solve problems for their employers. For the last year they have operated in England, and are frequents of bars in the cities and towns they visit, often complaining that their respective bounties are far to low. Religion: He believes in God, but wants to punch him square in the face. Goals: To survive, live well, and have his kind of fun in the world Characters name: Dan Becker Race & Gender: Brown Bear, Male Age, actual and apparent: 36 on both accounts Height and Build: 7 feet, Large and looks overweight Hair & Eyes: Brown Hair with a Black “tattooing” around the face and arms (using dyed fur) and black eyes Physical description: He looks overweight, but don’t let that fool you, there is muscle like you wouldn’t believe under his skin. He usually appears in a loose shirt and straight legged trousers with a pair of decent boots on his feet. The only thing that might suggest his criminal tendencies is the tattoo from his face stretching down his arm. Career & Skills: A muscle man, an focus on threatening and looking and being mean. However, he also has a keen interest in books and music, turning up in bookstores and concert halls as much as bars. Weapons: None apart from his fists. He again knows how to use firearms, its just he chooses not. After all at 6’7 and touching 350 pounds, he can far more deadly than a pistol. Equipment: Usually he is the pack horse of The Duo, so it more depends on what they need for their current job. Mental description: Sociopath tendencies but if you are a friend you’re a friend for life. Has been known to be altruistic, just very rarely Background: Dan mainly worked around and in New York for several years, before bumping into Peter. Bumping being an apt word as Dan had been sent to teach the younger Peter the lesson that you do not steal from a powerful don of the mafia. During a down and and dirty brawl between the two, they started to respect one another. Dan lost the fight after Peter decided to perform a dance on Dan’s groin, but Peter offered the bear a drink, and an icepack. In the bar the two started talking and started to become firm friends. When Peter left the city Dan went with him, as did several thousand dollars from the don’s personal account. Over the years Dan and Peter have become close friends, and The Duo is all the stronger for it. Religion: Agnostic. Goals: To rob the President and Congress. Everyone can dream eh? |
