So I figured this thread would be a good place for everyone to provide input for a comprehensive criminal code for the region. To get started, here are some ideas: Identity fraud and electoral fraud, which while remaining separate crimes would probably go hand in hand often. This would mainly be for people creating puppets and leading others to believe they're separate players who are participating in government and voting in elections. Treason, which would basically be interfering with the legitimate government of the region (probably with the aim to illegally overthrow it). Miscarriage of justice, which would basically be interfering with the judicial process in the region. Privacy violation, which would be making public confidential information. Blackmail could be another crime that goes in hand with this. Corruption would be the use of public office for personal gain. False accusations (self-explanatory). Breaking NationStates rules (handled by NS mods). Raiding, which would basically be participating in in-game raider activity or belonging to raider organizations (this one should earn a lifetime ban as far as i'm concerned). The criminal code should also discuss forms of punishment. Will punishments be strictly prescribed by the criminal code, or will they be up to the discretion of the judge? I'm thinking an obvious punishment is banjection, but for life is maybe too harsh for most of the above crimes (except for raiding, of course. Raiders are scum). Perhaps after a period of time we'd let them return, and after even more time we'd return their voting rights and rights to run for office and participate in Parliament? Just thoughts.
