Since we're making all these lists... 1. Michael Jackson He does have few great dance hits and dance moves. Majority of his catalog is just weak and cheesy. All those save the world, feed the hungry, it's hard to be this famous, you are not alone i am here with you (if you're underage), it doesn't matter if you're black or white but gay is a no no... anthems. As for his dancing, I admit, those dance moves seem hard to do; but when looking at his performances, damn, did he ever have more them few moves? And those awful costumes... 2. The Rolling Stones Even fewer good songs. They're still alive and performing, guess that's a big part of their appeal. 3. Whitney Houston I loved My Love Is Your Love (song). I Wanna Dance With Somebody is also nice, in a a 80s nostalgia club hit kind of way. Never cared for singers who just have to scream as much as they can in every bloody song. 4. Celine Dion She seems like a nice person though. 5. Barbra Streisand She has that song from that movie in the 70s, anything else semi-decent? |

Poor ol' Jacko! I do know what you mean though. Most of his albums had plenty of filler on them, but he had at least 20 stone cold classics. I agree though about his visuals and dance moves. He never, ever grew or evolved as an artist much.Definitely agree about The Rolling Stones. How some people ever thought they were better than The Beatles is beyond me. Whitney's albums were always fillerfests, but she did have some cracking songs. Celine: see above Streisand: see above |

My list: 1. Rappers. Every single one of the fuckers. People like Drake, Jay Z, Eminem, Tupac, Frank Ocean, even the supposedly godlike Kendrick Lamar. Fuck off. Rapping may well be a talent, but it's an extremely minor one that I personally have feck all respect for. Talking fast over beats will never, EVER beat a great melody and singing voice. 99% of it bores me to tears. 2. Elvis. I'm in no way attempting to deny his impact on the musical landscape and pop culture. He remains a GIANT in that regard. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool. Just on a musical level though...he does nothing for me. 3. Pink Floyd. Not my cup of tea at all. I've tried to get into their stuff, to no avail. 4. P!nk. She's been churning out the same playground level tunes with the odd decent ballad, for over 15 years. She's not AWFUL...just profoundly bland and uninteresting. She remains a big seller. I'm mystified as to why. 5. Snow Patrol. Coldplay minus the tunes. |

I agree about the rappers. Most of them have some good tracks but for whatever reason every mediocre album they release gets incredible reviews by default. It's like the unofficial rule these years is that there can be no year-end list without Kendrick Lamar on the top. My only complain about Elvis is that people forget that he never wrote any of his song, so to praise him as "creative genius" on the level of Beatles etc. isn't really fair. Pink Floyd isn't really my cup of tea either, but I get why they are so big. P!nk is semi-awful. Her first 2-3 albums were OK, but she has that voice that makes every song sound the same (not that they're all that different anyway). She delivers the same emotion whether she's singing a ballad or a dance track. The acrobatics, the angry brat edgy punk girl face expressions, that whole I'm so alternative yet I'm basically making the blandest pop music Avril Lavigne syndrome. I just can't... Snow Patrol, yeah Edited by Pera, Feb 7 2018, 09:08 AM.
