As much as most of them were shite, the original "Friday the 13th" series is one of my guilty pleasures. Parts 2 and 4 are two of my favourite ever slasher movies. Bitchin'!

The movie is being remade by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes, who also remade "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (and didn't do a bad job in my opinion) and "The Amityville Horror" (which was rubbish in the first place and was rubbish remixed).

Screen shots of the new Jason in action can be seen here. I'm not sure .... The hair seems a bit much but makes sense. And he looks like the human killing machine of the first few films. I think the thing is, he just doesn't seem very scary here.

You're right, he doesn't look very scary at ALL. I like how one of the commenters put it - it's hard to fear someone with a mullet. :lol2:

The teaser trailer has leaked online. It's quite hard to make out what's going on but, far be it from me to sound like a teenage frat boy ... but this looks like it's going to ROCK!

A throughly nasty slasher with an old-school sensibility.

Well, let's face it, the original "Friday the 13th" wasn't actually THAT good a film. It wasn't a patch on "Halloween" and the remake stands to be a much better movie.

The teaser trailer (which has now been taken down, sadly) is very promising.

Don't get sassy with me, Miss Vanity. Jimmy hasn't had his coffee yet and might just cut your pee pee off.

"The Hills Have Eyes" remake was MUCH better than the dire and vastly over-rated original. And I also enjoyed "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre".

The official website has been updated with the trailer: http://www.fridaythe13thmovie.com/

And a HQ version of the scene that was doing the rounds earlier this year is also online: http://fridaythe13thfilms.com/blog/friday-the-13th-2009-teaser-trailer-hq/

This looks like it might, actually, be a decent little slasher movie, with a pleasingly creepy atmosphere. For some reason, though, the hockey mask feels a bit hokey. I think I've just seen it too many times.
