In fact, the only one I'm not really keen on is "Vulnerable", and it's not like a I hate it, I just find it annoying.
Yes!! It is VERY annoying. Normally I don't have a big problem with his voice but on this track he sounds SO whiny, and the way it goes right into the chorus from the get go... "Vuuulnerableeeee.... So vulnerableeee..."

Just shut up!

well, he is trying to make sure he sounds vulnerable, LOL

Granted the lyric is a bit on the whiny side but I think all gay men can identify with the song at one time or another, so I like that.

But he pretty much always sounds vulnerable... in that song it's just a bit too much.

And yes, as always the lyric is great.

true. I know people who can't get into PSB simply because they hate Neil's voice. I like it, but I can see where it puts others off, kinda like Michael Stipe or Morrissey's voices.

I ignored the PSB for years because of Neil's voice. I just couldn't cope with it until at some point it just clicked, and I now adore it. Rufus Wainwright's voice puts a LOT of people off too. It's such a shame. They're really missing out.

i've never had a problem with neil's voice, in fact it's just unimaginable for their songs to be sung by anybody else than him.

as for james masterson's comments, he just confirms he may know a lot about chart facts but nill on how the music industry works. psb albums may not sell in large quantities these days, but they can be profitable as parlophone do not spend a penny on their making. parlophone spend tons of money on kylie's x and probably never refounded it, yet they fought to keep her for a simple reason, prestige. the same happens in the case of the psb or depeche mode. such groups are not just yet another successful act, they've built a legacy and are respected in the industry regardless of hard sales.

it's funny he even dared to make such an idiotic comment considering half of today's chart is filled with artists whose music is either inspired or totally ripping off 80s electronic pop. xenomania built a career out of the pet shop boys, i'd say these days the latter are more relevant than ever

Yes. Neil's voice IS an acquired taste but once you 'get' it, its gorgeous.

according to James Masterson, Nickelback is probably the worlds greatest current rock and roll band because they sell so many albums, so his opinion is a joke. Let the music speak for itself, not the chart position or sales certification.

I can't understand that people don't like Vulnerable! It's such a brilliant track. It reminds me a bit of Turn To Stone by Girls Aloud, it's a bit repetitive as well but the chorus is great and I think it will be amazing when performed live.

I do like Vulnerable a lot, but I still think it should be no longer than 3 and a half minutes. There simply isn't enough to it to keep it going for longer. Interesting that on the track-by-track commentary, they say that they originally intended to edit the song, but just never bothered.

I like it, but as Riv points out, it does go on a bit... :files: It's like something off Erotica in that regard.

We should find out in about an hour where the PSB album is after monday's sales. Word on the street is that they may be high today, but will probably end up losing to GaGa by sunday. :manson:

Clearly she's seen Madge's surgeon.

Ugh. So it looks like an iTunes fuck up may well cost them a #1 album placing. It went on sale early last week, so 2500 sales from last week won't count for this week.

Aaaaaargghh!!!
