This 2nd single scenario is just plain bizarre... perhaps they're going to do a simultaneous release or perhaps release them in selected territories??

The single releases should go as follows

- Love Etc
- Did You See Me Coming?
- Pandemonium
- More Than A Dream

but then again All Over The World and The Way It Used To Be are single-worthy in my opinion.
Wow.

I love how AOTW is just a little aside in your list. It's literally *SCREAMING* to be a single. It should actually have been the first single. It's without a doubt the song with the most hit potential...by FAR.

DYSMC is a very, very good song, but they already gave away 2 MILLION copies of it 3 weeks ago. It's insanity to release it as a single, especially when you have a song like AOTW sitting there waiting for a release.
Balls, I completely forgot about that Daily Mail thing (for good reason one assumes). I really can't see radio playing All Over The World though... I guess it's difficult to decide as radio stations may just decide not to play any of the follow up singles. Their best hope is if the album does get to #1 and they push the next single to radios quite quickly.
Why can't you see radio stations playing AOTW? They aren't big on radio anyway, but I reckon that's the one with the most potential by a LONG way. It's *incredibly* catchy and euphoric. Why would you think otherwise?
Ok well I'm listening to the album as I type.... and I just think other songs are more immediate, such as More Than A Dream (which is playing now). There are a handful of songs on this album that have single potential.

Nice article on the design of the front cover for "Yes". More orgasmically though, look at the pics of the 11 vinyl 12"s. Oh. My. God. :drama:

I adore Act Of Contrition, but yeah, not exactly single material! I bet Funky thinks it is though.

At least it's WAY out of my reach. If it'd been something like €100 I'd probably have bought it, but not three times that. No way!

That doesn't mean that you can't all club together and buy one for me. Or two.

Was it the Digital Spy interview where Neil said the record company wanted "Did You See Me Coming?" but they wanted "All Over The World"?

I agree with them. "Did" is pleasant enough, but it's the kind of track they could knock out in their fag break. (Or "Guardian" crossword break, in Neil's case). "All Over" just has that little of bit something that provokes bumps of the goose variety.

Just caught the Pets on the Album Chart Show on Channel 4. They closed the show by performing "Love Etc" and "Always On My Mind"!

did u see me coming is pleasant alright, but definitely 3rd or 4th single material. all over the world is the only track off this album with the potential to make it big, if it's not the second single, then they should not bother releasing it at all.

for me, the obvious choices from this point on are
all over the world
the way it used to be
pandemonium

The album entered the UK charts tonight at #4. Sales pretty much collapsed after the opening couple of days. :(

It's their highest entry since "Bilingual" entered at #4 in 1996.

The record company fuck up probably lost them a place or two.

"Love Etc" has held up not too badly - 27 down from 14. That's par for the course for a lot of singles, and is actually pretty decent for them. They usually freefall in week 2. I'm thinking particularly about "Red Letter Day" plunging 9 to 42!

Indeed. Considering they performed it on UK TV literally only *once*, it's not that bad for them at all. They should get moving quickly with the next single, whatever it is.

The latter is at least cause for some cheer.

Let's just hope they choose the right single to follow up Love Etc and that they actually perform it during their promotional activity!
