anyone else buy vinyl here? I bought the UK vinyl of Yes on ebay yesterday for $32. That's easily the most I've ever paid for a record (I did pay around $25 for Hard Candy, REM's Accelerate and Depeche Mode's latest in stores but those also came packaged with a copy of the CD) but considering they limited the pressing to just 1000 copies worldwide and the fact that vinyl sales are up a lot compared to previous years means it'll be gone quickly, so I'm glad to get it when I did, it shipped today so hopefully in the next week I'll get it. I only have Please, Actually and Introspective on wax.

I almost always buy vinyl if available. $32 is standard price if you go out and buy it in a Danish store though (then again our prices on CDs and the likes are ridicously high).

6 days now until the concert, I'm so excited! I'm going with one of my best friends who also happens to be my colleague so everyone at work is tired of us going "ASK YOURSELF NOW CAN YOU FORGIVE HER?" every second. :lol2: I really hope they will perform After The Event, what a fantastic track!

Here's my review! Last night was in one word: SPECTACULAR!! One of the best shows I've been to lately! I don't know every detail so I will list what comes to mind.

-First the things that bothered me: the audience was DEAD. It took 7 or so songs to even get a single response. Weird crowd, some housewives, a few people my age and lots of bald 30-year-olds. Only when Always on my Mind came on people started to clap along.
-The opening was a bit off. They did Heart, dressed with boxes on their heads. It was such a WTF?! situation, no one knew whether to clap or stand non plussed. CLAP YOU FOOLS! Obviously me and my friend were screaming and jumping up and down. We had a good sight, perhaps 10 people in front of us.

What was GOOD:
-Highlights of the evening: Always On My Mind, Love etc., Suburbia, Being Boring, All Over The World and many more I don't remember right now.
-Love etc. worked so well live! I was screaming: DON'T HAVE TO BE! DON'T HAVE TO HAVE! :lol2:
-The stage was spectacular. It had a lot of cubes on it that fell apart then were lifted, it changed all the time.
-Chris Lowe did a few dance moves and then returned to his DJ booth, it was hilarious!
-Neil Tennant was very good live, I heard some horror stories but as far as I remember most of the songs were spot on.
-The biggest attraction was someone next to me, in his 30s, who started to dance like he had a seizure. Of course we nearly died laughing.

Anyways, this concert turned me into a proper loon. Go see them if you can!

this all sounds incredibly exciting. they've always put on a great show, but then touring with the best new music they've delivered in ages really does make all the difference. shame i'll just have to make do with the dvd, which i figure should be out by christmas.

The latest issue of their fanclub magazine arrived today. Almost 70 pages of fascinating, detailed interviews and news, most of which isn't available anywhere else. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you're a PSB fan, you MUST subscribe to Literally. :drama:

From the official site:

On September 25th "Beautiful people" will be released as a third single from "Yes" in Germany only at the request of EMI Germany. The digital and physical release will include "Beautiful people" album and demo versions and Richard X's previously unreleased seven-inch mix of "Fugitive". Complete format details will follow soon. "Beautiful people" was serviced to radio stations in Germany last Friday.
A different worldwide Pet Shop Boys EP release is planned for later this year.

and to think they were whining about kylie not picking pandemonium for x, why should she if themselves are overlooking it.
the way it used to be is up there with being boring, glorious irresistible melancholy-i was listening to it on the train the other day after being snobbed by an old boyfriend and couldn't help shedding tears, which equals smash hit to my logic

anyway, this project has really gone tits up, which is quite a shame given the quality of it
