PopArt is a fine piece of pop art. Indeed! Both new songs included there, Miracles and Flamboyant are sooooo cute.

Following Pet Shop Boys' acclaimed performance at the Brit Awards on Wednesday, their 2003 greatest hits compilation, PopArt, has today re-entered the UK albums chart at number 19. On the iTunes albums chart, it is currently number 2 with the older compilation, Discography, and the pre-order of the forthcoming album, Yes, also in the top 20.

I really like it a lot. It's like an animated Gilbert & George piece!

"PopArt" which re-charted at number 19 in the UK albums chart on Sunday is up to 13 in the latest mid-week chart.
"Love etc." has entered the UK radio airplay chart top 50 at number 37.
"Yes" (pre-order) is, at the moment, number 25 in the UK iTunes Top Albums chart while "PopArt" is number 5.

From the official site:

A unique CD, "Pet Shop Boys Story", will be given away in the UK next Sunday, March 8th, with the Mail On Sunday newspaper. The 11-track career retrospective starts with the rare 10-inch mix of "West End girls" and concludes with a preview of "Did you see me coming?" from the forthcoming new album, "Yes". The cover artwork is designed by Farrow and 2.2 million copies will be distributed following a TV advertising campaign.

I have to say I'm a tad dismayed that they're doing this deal with the Mail of all newspapers. I would imagine Neil and Chris hate that paper.

Absolutely. I'm 99% sure they would normally *despise* that newspaper. It'll be very interesting to hear their comment on this if they're asked.

god I am so jealous of you Brits. In the US, PSB will probably debut at something like #150 and Love Etc. will ONLY chart dance. :(

Indeed, though I think they've actually missed a huge opportunity in the UK by releasing "Yes" so long after the Brits attention has died down. They should have had the new record in the shops that week.
