"Undertow" grows on me more and more with each listen too. I liked it from the start, but now I'm loving it. What an album!

I adore PSB, I really do.
Oh yes that's a corker too. It reminds me of their old darker "relationship" songs like "So Hard", "Jealousy" etc

Plus it helps that it's incredibly catchy :D

It's a bit New Order-ish too. Never a bad thing!

I think it's better than Nightlife. I remember being disappointed with that album and with Bilingual before it.

Yeah, those two albums are the only missteps in their career for me. I think they lost their way a little and weren't quite sure what to do when their initial popularity started to wane. Even those ones contain some fabulous songs though. "You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk" is my favourite PSB song!

Really? You think "Release" and "Elysium" are better than those albums? "Don't Know What You Want ..." is my favourite PSB song ever. It's just so ... majestic.

Anyway, I gave "Super" a few spins this morning. Really enjoyed it. It's not up there with "Electric" for me. But I can see it becoming one of those fail safe albums I stick on when I am pottering about the house and want something enjoyable to listen to.

I actually really like "The Pop Kids" now. It certainly got me bopping in my seat.

Unpopular opinion time: I adore Release and Elysium. I genuinely have no idea why they aren't more highly regarded. Gorgeous, gorgeous melodies, lyrics and arrangements!

Glad to hear you're enjoying Super too! I reckon it has surpassed Electric for me, although time will tell!

I still have them on my iPhone. When I have it on shuffle if one of the songs come on I genuinely don't enjoy them. The only reason I leave them on is if I feel like listening to the lyrics.

But I am glad you like them. I like it when people aren't just swept along with what the status quo.

Hehe. It's strange. I wasn't really a fan until Fundamental, so I sort of worked backwards through their albums after that. I approached Release expecting to hate it based on the negative vibes around it, and was shocked at how much I love it. It just clicks with me! Horses for courses I suppose!

What's your favourite PSB album?

I'm honestly not sure. My gut tells me "Yes!". But I play "Electric" the most by far. And it's hard to argue against "Actually" with all of those amazing singles on it.

Yeah I completely agree that starting with Bilingual, they lost their way somewhat. Before that it was pretty much all solid gold.

"Drunk" is indeed a fabulous song and one of my faves too.

I think Super trumps Electric for me personally; both are terrific.
