oh dear god... on that other board, it's open season to bash PSB because they went public about being approached, then rejected for Hard Candy. Anyone who honestly thinks PSB sucks and that Candy Shop and 4 Minutes were great songs seriously need their ears checked. If anything, PSB being rejected probably hurt HC a great deal as that album had several of Madonna's all time worst songs and PSB would've been just what the doctor ordered IMO

Yeah but if Madge had worked with Neil and Chris we'd never have been blessed with songs like "Incredible"...

I know, our ears would've been robbed of ever hearing 4 Minutes. :horny:

To be fair, if PSB had worked on Hard Candy, it would probably have been an even bigger mess than it is. As it is, it's at least one of better flowing albums, it sounds pretty coherent...

I'm glad Madonna made Hard Candy instead of continuing with Confessions. It got her butt going, not sitting around stagnating. It would have been too safe.

But if PSB had worked on Hard Candy, it wouldn't have tutned into Hard Candy if you know what I mean. At least Warners had the sense to know that the PSB sound wouldn't even remotely work for an R&B-influenced album.

Anyway, there's nothing to stop them working together in the future. It'd be such a thrill to hear Madonna singing intelligent lyrics again. :drama:

Yeah, but making an album with the PSB wouldn't have been "stagnating", would it? I'm pretty sure the results would've been a helluva lot better than HC.

But it would be a continuation of that disco era, and Madonna had gotten to lax in moving on. I call it the Guy Ritchie affect. She worked with Mirwaste ten billion times, then there was Stuart. It was like she only collaborated them because they were a few blocks from her house and she wouldn't have to travel far. She got really lazy during that period, and that period lasted for years. She finally woke up with Confessions. She seemed to have burst of energy again. I didn't care what she did next, just as long as it was a dramatic change. It'll be good in the long run. There's no going back to old producers and familiar faces now.

I wonder what her next album will be like. I really, really hope it's *dramatically* different to HC.

I hope she does a Ragga album with Sean Paul.

One of the b-sides to "Love etc." can be heard on YouTube now. It's called "Gin & Jag".

Indeed. Anthemic.

As much as I liked "Fundamental", I think this is going to be their best album since "Very".

Listening to the medley, some of the clips of the songs that leaked in full yesterday already sound like old classics. Isn't that crazy?

At the end of last week, "Yes" was number one in both Amazon UK's and HMV.com's pre-release charts.
"Love etc." is today down two places to number 21 in the UK radio airplay chart (although it increased its audience and number of plays) and number one in the Cool Cuts chart.
"PopArt", which re-entered the UK albums chart after the Brits performance, is at number 38 this week.
