Anyone else watching this? Fembot?

After the sublime Bleak House and the wonderful Cranford, I had such high hopes for this, but so far I've been utterly underwhelmed. So far it feels disjointed and quite unengaging. I don't give a toss about any of the characters. There's irritating music throughout and ghastly "Allo Allo" accents for the French characters. Some of the scenes are just ridiculous to look at too, such as the one last night of the Circumlocution Office. A beautiful image, but it ended up looking like something from Alice In Wonderland. With Bleak House, I was hooked in the first few minutes. It was dark and mysterious and incredibly gripping. This just isn't in the same league at all.

So, so disappointing. :(

Oh dear... I taped it. haven't watched it yet. Was waiting until I could snuggle up on the sofa with a box of chocs and watch it "properly".

Will report back.

I can always just eat all the chocs if it's shit :basil:

For some reason I can never get into period dramas.

They're all "What happy manners!" and I'm all, "Zzzzzzzzzzz".

Oddly enough, I find the books more engaging.
