I've never been a Star Trek fan, but this movie is looking really good!

Oh I love the original series of Star Trek. This looks like a really cool update of the classic characters.

Yeah. The tone and look seem spot-on. Great cast too!

I'm sorry but there is just no way of making Star Trek cool even though they obviously tried very hard.

There are fantastic reviews pouring in for this from people who saw the premiere in Australia yesterday. Really looking forward to it!

Like Riv said, I thought I would never be interested in a Star Trek movie but I saw the trailer attached to Watchmen and it looked FANTASTIC. Also the fact that JJ Abrahams is directing actually may make me go and see this movie.

Best reviews I've seen of a genre film in a long time.

Chris Pine is a dish too...

A sell-out movie. It's Indiana Jones all over again. They've sexed it up too, with fuck scenes. Give me a break. Simon Pegg? Flop.

What do you mean "sell-out movie"? This is Star Trek we're talking about!

It totally needed a complete reboot. It had become a total joke. Starting from scratch was absolutely the way to go. As for it being a flop, I *seriously* doubt it. I think it's going to be absolutely MASSIVE.

Poor, gullible, Riverwide. :lmao:

It's going to be a piece of shit. I'm surprised they didn't throw Britney Spears into the cast lineup.

They have turned it into Melrose Place meets 90210.

4 out of 5 from both Empire and Total Film magazine. Glowing reviews from those who have seen it so far.

"A stupendous production, Star Trek goes where no movie sequel or prequel has gone before in bringing intelligence and invention to a peak in cinematic storytelling."

and another

"Script: tick. Casting: tick. Direction: tick. Special effects: tick. It's an extraordinary achievement and great entertainment for all as we partake in an edge-of-seat thrill-ride"

I think your inexplicable agenda against it is blinding you from the fact that it's probably going to be a very good sci-fi movie and be a very big hit. It's a shame you won't allow yourself to just sit back and enjoy it like most cinema fans.

Oh I don't. I really, really don't. I just don't see the point in saying a movie is "shit" before he has even seen it!

But yeah, I shall be judging for myself on May 8th. I won't give a toss what the reviews say when I see it for myself.

Wake up people! TickTock only likes movies with fat people in. Clearly the Star Trek universe follows the Atkins diet as there's not a fat roll in sight; ergo no lardies. Big Momma's House 2 is much more TickTock's bag.

I actually own Big Momma's House and Big Momma's House 2.

I have a soft spot for movies where racial stereotypes don fat suits and pretend to be other racial stereotypes. It's almost a fetish.

Riv, you were the one who told us that only Spielberg knows what a good movie is, and we're in no position to call it crap.

THis is JJ Abrams bullshit.

And Riv, don't get your reviews off of Wikipedia.

People will go and see anything. That doesn't make a good film.

This is a sell-out film, just to try and sell merchandise.
