Star Trek's 7-day total in the US is $2million more than Wolverine's first 7 days, despite the fact that Wolverine opened with $10m more. I think that says it all really! :chuckle:

Uh, no, not really, hon.

You can't compare Wolverine, a film that wasn't expected to even make a buck, to a huge franchise like, Star Trek. As stated earlier, Wolverine leaked online in it's entirety 1 month before its premiere. That matters BIG TIME. The fact that it made the money it did for such a shit idea, and people still shelled out big bucks to see it, speaks volumes. It's a Blockbuster! Star Trek's performance is pretty pathetic up against it in terms of $$$.

And don't pull the bullshit that I'm simply taking a dig at you. Facts are facts. Star Trek, is doing well on its own, but when you start putting Wolverine up against Star Trek, that's a story in itself.

TickTock, seriously, are you on medication?

The Star Trek franchise was DEAD IN THE WATER for years. Wolverine on the other hand was coming off the back of 3 recent X-Men movies, each one bigger and more successful than the last. It's fading fast because of one reason: it's SHIT. The download merely gave people a heads up on how shit it was going to be. If people had enjoyed the leak, most would have gone to see it in the cinema.

Star Trek's performance is fantastic considering how the last few Trek movies performed. It's been holding up very, very well all week too because PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIKE IT, unlike the Wolverine debacle. It's going to hang around for a long time and be a BIG hit.

Now please seek help for your mental issues.

 And it has a lot of life left in it yet I reckon. Entertainment Weekly is predicting a $45m second weekend, which would see it sail past the $150m mark in less than 2 weeks.

By the way, I bought "The Voyage Home" on DVD last weekend and watched it. I know it's silly, but it's such a lot of fun. Some great comedy in that movie. I throughly enjoyed it.

I think this movie deserves to be the BLOCKBUSTER of the summer. Sadly, something moronic like Transformers will probably take in like $1 billion.

Well at least it's already a BIG hit, but yeah Transformers will make more money, even though it's nothing more than a video game where you watch tin men smash into each other for 2 hours. The first movie was *dreadful*.

$116,461,000 on day 8. It was less than $5m behind Angels & Demons on friday, despite all the publicity and it being it's opening night.

It's also now the most successful movie in the Star Trek franchise.

It only dropped 42% this weekend, which is very good for a sci-fi genre flick! Wolvering dropped a whopping 68% in its second week. Even Iron-Man last year dropped 48% in its second week, so the signs are very good!

The US total is now $147,611,000!

Star Trek’s $43M weekend in the US
At $43M, Star Trek’s 2nd weekend is impressive showing the power of positive word of mouth. Even though Wolverine’s 1st weekend was bigger than Trek’s, its 2nd weekend was only $26.4M (a 69% drop). Trek’s second weekend drop of 43% is lower than many other recent big movies including last year’s hit Iron Man which dropped 48% in its second weekend (to $51.2M).

According to Box Office Mojo estimates, Star Trek will have brought in a cumulative total of $147.6M domestically by the end of Sunday. This means Star Trek will have brought in more money by its 2nd weekend than Superman Returns ($141.6) and Batman Begins ($122.5), and both of those films ended up with a bit over $200M by the time the left theaters.
