And Goldtooth wouldn't have anyone to bash because kicking people with learning disabilities makes him feel better about himself. Stupid condescending piece of shit. |

![]() Fem, did you enjoy Bring Back Star Trek? I cringed when he made himself known to Nichelle. She looked really pissed off and the whole thing was a tad embarassing. She probably felt they were taking the piss for a few minutes. She seemed so nice in the end though. No surprise that Shitner wouldn't take part. Leonard is such a sweet man! |

I'm just fed up with Goldtooth's constant assholeness to me because he is uncomfortable with me posting and I refuse to go away and censor myself because one person doesn't want me around. I have mentioned before I have Aspergers and I'm on disability and on lots of medication to keep me functioning (I'm not totally out of it, I've had long term relationships and everything, I'm not someone who stares at a wall and talks to himself, I'm very high functioning but I still have it) and yet Goldtooth always replies like a prick to my posts because my posts make him uncomfortable, and I've had enough of his shit. I have plenty of friends on here and on MN and I'm not stopping just because my presence makes him uncomfortable. |

Yeah, the Nichelle bit was cringey. JLC does cross the line sometimes and it was a bit disrespectful in parts. Leonard Nimoy is SUCH a lovely man; I've never heard anyone from the supporting cast say anything but kind things about him - and the much missed DeForrest Kelley... The "Shat" on the other hand is a different story!! |

Totally. I like him a lot, but as old-fashioned as this might sound, I don't think it's right to treat people like he does sometimes, especially elderly people like tonight's bunch. Respect your elders Justin! |

Have you seen the movie yet Fem? Wait til you see Karl Urban as Bones. He's the only cast member to attempt an actual impersonation of the original cast, but he does an *incredible* job. He looks nothing like DeForrest, but his mannerisms and delivery are shockingly accurate! |

Huge respect to you for being so honest. Sorry if some people here give you a hard time. We all have tiffs and fall outs sometimes, but personal attacks are way out of line. Let's get things in perspective and live long and prosper (obviously) |

I haven't seen it yet - probably won't for a couple of weeks as I'm snowed under work-wise Interesting about Karl Urban... It's hard to imagine anyone stepping into DeForrest's shoes so good to here that he does a good job! How was |

He was wonderful. Undoubtedly the star of the show for me! I find him disturbingly attractive, but only as Spock for some reason. WTF is that all about?

Tell the truth I've never seen him in anything. I loathed Heroes so have very little awareness of him as an actor. I always had a thing for Spock We're obviously both Vulcan fuckers Must be the bowl cut, blue eyeshadow and pasty skin Edited by Fembot 1, May 9 2009, 10:24 PM.

Friday Report: ‘Star Trek’ Launches Strongly by Brandon Gray May 9, 2009 On Friday, Star Trek blasted off with an estimated $24 million on approximately 7,400 screens at 3,849 sites (which included 138 IMAX venues). Counting an estimated $7 million from Thursday night previews, the tally is $31 million in effectively a day and a half, according to distributor Paramount Pictures. Unadjusted, that's more than any previous Star Trek movie grossed in an entire opening weekend, edging out Star Trek: First Contact's $30.7 million. At its current trajectory, the new Star Trek is headed for an opening weekend north of $60 million, not including the Thursday previews (because the weekend is counted Friday to Sunday). That would not only be the biggest-grossing opening weekend for a Star Trek movie, but also the most attended (albeit from far more theaters than any previous Trek). First Contact was the benchmark, which debuted to around $50 million adjusted for ticket price inflation at 2,812 theaters. While the previous movie in the franchise, Star Trek: Nemesis, was a dud, all of the other movies had the equivalent of $30-million-plus starts adjusted. X-Men Origins: Wolverine bled more than 75 percent in its second Friday, in a drop that was comparable to the last movie in the franchise, X-Men: The Last Stand. The prequel made an estimated $8.5 million, lifting its total to an excellent $111.1 million in eight days. If the picture follows a similar path as its predecessors, that would lead to a weekend gross of around $27 million. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past dipped to third with an estimated $3.1 million for a $22.9 million tally in eight days. The fantastical romantic comedy was off 46 percent from last Friday, which was in the same range as Fool's Gold and Failure to Launch, and is en route to a $10 million weekend. However, it still significantly trails the past Matthew McConaughey romantic comedies. Obsessed was cut in half from last Friday with an estimated $2.1 million, increasing its booty to $51.7 million in 15 days, while new release, Next Day Air, rounded out Friday's Top Five with an estimated $1.4 million at 1,138 sites. |

![]() Box Office Report: 'Star Trek' soars with $72.5 mil debut May 10, 2009, 01:47 PM | by Joshua Rich J.J. Abrams' franchise reboot boldly went where no Star Trek movie has gone before, grossing a stellar $72.5 mil from Friday through Sunday, according to early estimates by Hollywood.com Box Office. That's the second-best opening of 2009 (after X-Men Origins: Wolverine's $85.1 mil last weekend), and it includes a whopping $8.2 mil earned in IMAX showings, a new one-weekend record for the large format (beating The Dark Knight's $6.3 mil). What's more, if you add in the $4 mil that the movie starring Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto earned in late-Thursday showings, Star Trek has banked an impressive $76.5 mil so far -- well ahead of most expectations. This result is highly logical. Considering all the hype and buzz and strong reviews that Star Trek has garnered, it's no surprise that this film's opening sum is by far the biggest of any Star Trek movie: Of the nine previous flicks in the franchise, 1996's Star Trek: First Contact bowed best, with (only) $30.7 mil over three days. Moreover, a look at the movie's CinemaScore report card reveals some potentially good news. While it drew an expected crowd mostly comprised of older males, Star Trek's solid-A grade shows that word of mouth could be strong enough to bring in fans outside of the franchise's usual demographic (i.e. people who weren't alive in the 1980s...and women) as the weeks go on. Unless said folks are too distracted by Angels & Demons, Night at the Museum 2, and all the other big flicks on tap, of course. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (No. 2) was next with $27 mil on a 68 percent decline. Fanboy-driven films always fall hard, but this drop is particularly hefty. Nevertheless, Hugh Jackman's franchise flick has already banked $129.6 mil in 10 days. Fellow holdovers Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (No. 3 with $10.5 mil), Obsessed (No. 4 with $6.6 mil), and 17 Again (No. 5 with $4.4 mil) rounded out the top five. And the comedy Next Day Air failed to take off, grossing just $4 mil at No. 6. And in limited release, neither Rudo y Cursi nor Little Ashes made much of a mark, as each averaged well under $7,000 per theater. Overall, the box office was up nearly 22 percent from the same frame a year ago (when the infamous Speed Racer hit a bump in the road). And, really, what could be a better Mother's Day gift than that? Love ya, Mom! Have a great day! |
