Okay, off the top of my head...

Where did Simon get the sac for his face? Did he find it?

When she pulled out the flour and found part of a jaw, was that suppose to indicate that all the bodies were found? The quickly went to the next scene and didn't show.

Who made the dolls? Each doll represented a child, right? Did the old woman make them after she killed them?

The children killed, Thomas. But Thomas was locked in the basement. How in the hell did the children make him drown? Did they take him out of the basement and "play a game with him"?

I know that no one can figure out how the woman got the information she had in the folder in the beginning, so I'm not even going to go there.

However, how did the son find out that he was adopted and that he had HIV? Are we suppose to really believe that his "friends" told him, or was it that the inside of the drawer had the file in it and he had read it?

I thought the whole "game" thing Simon supposedly came up with, was a tad over the top. It took me awhile to even get what the hell they were doing with the teeth, and all that shit.

Last question, what was the mother's whole deal with this house? What's the underlying theme here? She was the only one who escaped? I couldn't figure it out. I mean, this seems like a film that should have some deeper meaning as to why she was chosen and all this led her back to the house, not just because of the memories.

And, oh yeah,

Was she suppose to be opening the orphanage back up for disabled children? I couldn't figure that bit out. What was the party for.

I loved this film, BTW. But I did have a few issues, and you can tell.

I've seen it like a year ago and don't remember that many details or any of those questions being directly answered
Try looking at imdb boards, people discuss that stuff all the time : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0464141/board/threads

So many questions, I don't remember the details very well.

However, how did the son find out that he was adopted and that he had HIV? Are we suppose to really believe that his "friends" told him, or was it that the inside of the drawer had the file in it and he had read it?

The children led him to the drawer and he read the file.

Was she suppose to be opening the orphanage back up for disabled children? I couldn't figure that bit out. What was the party for.

Yes she reopened it. It was a welcome party for the new kids.

Last question, what was the mother's whole deal with this house? What's the underlying theme here? She was the only one who escaped? I couldn't figure it out.

I believe she was the only survivor, I don't know exactly why she survived though, I believe she was transferred or simply left a few months prior.

She reopened it, but ended up never bringing them in?
