After setting a box office record on Christmas day, Marley & Me was again top dog at the box office on Friday, raising its estimated two-day receipts to $28.6 million. Friday audiences also continued to make a winner of Oscar contender The Curious Case of Benjamin Button; the David Fincher-directed story starring Brad Pitt as a man aging backward banked $22 million heading into Saturday. Close on its heels was Adam Sandler's Bedtime Stories, which took in $20.2 million, with weekend matinees for kids promising to boost its total by Sunday. The good news also extended to comeback kid Tom Cruise, whose Valkyrie scored a two-day estimate of $16.5 million. The other Christmas Day opener, The Spirit, had less to celebrate, barely sneaking into the top 10 with a two-day total of $6.5 million. Check back at EW.com on Sunday afternoon for the complete four-day Box Office Report.

oh vow ... dull family comedy about a naughty dog wins over serious drama about aging ... on Christmas ... in America ... I just can't believe it

She didn't actually beat him. His movie is being shown on less screens. This means that his movie is actually drawing more audiences, with less availability. If it were shown on more, I have no doubt that he would have beat her crap movie. Aniston is a boring cow. She does nothing, and is nothing. She was in a crap 90s show. It ended there. She's lucky to have Angelina Jolie, or she would have been forgotten a long time ago. |

That's not the case actually. Marley & Me has a higher per theater average than Benjamen Button. |

I love Hennifer Maniston! She seems like a genuinely sweet lady. And she's really not a bad actress imho. She doesn't have much range, but she's not terrible. |

Aniston is not a great actress but she is pretty entertaining. And she has a fairly successful movie career (the only Friend with such a career in fact). She's been in quite a few hits - Bruce Almighty; Along Came Polly; The Break-Up; The Good Girl; Derailed; The Object of My Affection and now Marley and Me) I think she is a lot more talented than both Brad and Angelina - I think they are incredibly mediocre. Other people seem to agree seeing as more people are watching her new movie than her ex's. |

I agree, actually. I think she's a very warm actress, and has impeccable comic timing. |
