Taken is doing fantastic, this must be Liam Neeson's first hit movie since The Phantom Menace

I knew "Friday the 13th" would be big business, but didn't think it would be that big. Biggest horror opening ever, apparently.

There will definitely be a sequel now ... let's hope they manage to make a better film next time!

Friday 13th will collapse next wek and will drop over 60% as it standard for horrors.

I';m amazed at how well 'Taken' is doing. It's not a very good film.

It'll still end up with about $80-90m, though, against a cost of $19m.

In a couple of weeks, expect to see all Oscar contenders go back up. I'm surprised Revolutionary Road has made such a small amount - was it a limited release?

It will require a win for the Oscar contenders to greatly improve their performance. If Mickey Rourke or Sean Penn win Best Actor their films will continue to do well. If they don't win they will drop out quickly. It is the period between nominations and ceremony that is the important time for nominated films. Afterwards only the winners benefit.

REvolutionary Road is limited released in about 750 theaters maximum. It was originally planned to be a wide release film but mixed reviews and the Oscar snub meant it underperformed quite badly.
