Neither Radio 1 or Radio 2 playlisted it, which is reeeeeeally bad.

Ellis-Bextor switches single plans
Monday, June 7 2010, 15:02 BST

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has changed the identity of her next single, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal.

The pop singer originally planned to release 'Off & On' as the third trailer from her upcoming album, Straight To The Heart.

However, she has now decided to release a collaboration with Dutch DJ/producer Armin van Buuren instead.

"It's called 'Not Giving Up' and I'm really excited about doing it. I'm filming a video with him very soon," she confirmed at yesterday's BAFTA TV Awards.

Ellis-Bextor also insisted that she was happy with the performance of her most recent single, 'Bittersweet', which peaked at number 25 on the UK singles chart last month.

"You know what, I'm totally at peace with it. I still love the song. This might sound like something you only say after something hasn't done fantastically, but I can honestly say with my hand on my heart that I've had a long career and I don't get bogged down with that kind of thing," she said.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor switches album title

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has again switched the title of her upcoming album.

The 'Bittersweet' singer, whose fourth studio set was titled Straight To The Heart, has changed the name back to Make A Scene, the project's working title from 2009.

Ellis-Bextor revealed the news to Russian radio station Moskva FM, where she is currently playing a number of gigs.

The star also confirmed that she hopes to release the LP across Europe in April 2011.

"After so many years coming to Russia, I have made many friends, because people are very friendly and nice," she told Life News.

"I like the Russian people and I always enjoy performing here. I have even thought about writing a book about my trip to Russia".

The 31-year-old's album has suffered a number of setbacks after being initially scheduled for release in October this year.

she's fucking irrelevant at this point. she already cancelled a date on her tour. she's a fucking joke... and it's hard for me to say cause I love her but it's obvious she'd rather spend time on eating and shopping. I hope she goes fucking bankrupt. SOPHIE I LIVED FOR YOU :(

How utterly, utterly random! To faff around for years and suddenly release the album in Russia in a couple of weeks and nowhere else. Utter insanity!

You have to love her! :lmao:

So it comes out in Russia and goes straight onto tin'ternet, thus ensuring that an already in trouble el-pee dies absolutely everywhere.

And speaking of random ... what on earth was the point in bringing out "Not Giving Up On Love" as the "lead" single, when it had already bombed last year? She didn't even bother her arse promoting it, that I could see, at least.

In the midst of all this, all she's been tweeting about over the past couple of days is her husband's driving skills and some necklace that she liked. :lmao:

It's possible that this Russian website has simply made a mistake, but even if it has, her career is still in an absolute mess. Who the hell is managing her? Does she even care anymore? She sort of gives me the impression that she'd just like to be a yummy mummy in London and do the occasional guest vocal on some generic dance songs.

Yep, it's insane. I laught to tears yesterday.
Maybe she really has no idea (doubtfully)...
Or maybe she doesn't want to release it in Eroupe at the end of the day, since all the songs on the album already flopped chartwise or on youtube. But decided to cash in a little on Russia.

Or maybe she's in no authority to decide anything due to some obligations to her label. Which is very possible...

Anyways, if that's all true, this is the craziest campaign ever!!! Once again, I mean :)))

@SophieEB: Yes it's true folks. Album out in Russia first, then rest of Europe. UK end of May

No chance it wouldn`t be downloaded by the tiny rest of her public already. I guess It will be everywhere since 15 April
