I had a few sort of "hand me down" albums by Simon & Garfunkel, but the very first album I actually went out and bought for myself was Madonna's "I'm Breathless".![]() What was yours? |

what was your first verdict on i'm breathless, riv? i remember listening to it for the first time and going absolutely mental over the fact vogue was the only straight up pop song. surely i grew to love the whole set soon thereafter, but what a shock that first impression was. |

I adored it all right away. I had seen "Dick Tracy" and loved the songs in it, so I already knew what the album would sound like! I was only really getting into pop music at the time, so I wasn't really looking for 11 other "Vogue"-style songs. It remains one of my favourite M albums to this day. After this one, I bought her albums in descending order of release starting with "Like A Prayer", which I instantly fell in love with too. That sealed the deal for me as far as M was concerned! I was literally *obsessed* with her for years after. |
