I think it's a very, very pleasant song. However, it's let down by the lack of a proper middle eight and I can't help but shake the feeling that it's just missing...something. It's also far too similar to "I Believe In You", yet not as striking and/or annoying.

It's a solid 7 out of 10 from me. Maybe 8.

i agree it's missing something. the verses are not as strong as the chorus imo.

it sounds more like a solid album track than a lead single. it just doesn't have the wow factor that people would often expect from a first single.

Exactly. Popjustice, Jake Shears, Dannii et al can blather on all they want about how "amazing" and "earth shatteringly brilliant" it is, but at the end of the day, it simply *isn't*. It's just a decent Kylie song. Far from her worst, but crucially, far from her best also.

Now I start to wonder about the album. If this is the very best that's on it, she's in trouble once again. I really don't think this song is going to be the smash hit that they obviously think and hope it is.

i'm sure she has MUCH stronger tracks on the album. but you are overthinking this. :lol2: we should enjoy the song for what it's worth.

it's been a grower so far but that might change with too many repeated listens.

i honestly think this song is better than 2/3rds of the songs on X.

this album HAS to sell more. X was such a non-event.

I do genuinely like the song a lot! I think most of the problem is the ridiculous hyperbole from Popjustice as usual. When you end up hearing the song, it's like..."oh".

And yeah, I'm sure the album will have at least a few gems on it.

I've just remembered that when "2 Hearts" premiered, I went on a rant about it on SayHey and part of my rant ended up being printed in The Sydney Morning Herald in an article slating the song. :lmao:
