I think this really says it all:

Bionic > Aphrodite

I really mean that!
ABSOLUTELY.

It is definitely the kind of the album that I will play a lot, however, as it unobtrusive and inoffensive to have on when I am working, reading the paper, having people round for dinner etc.
This is what it is. Its fun, summery etc and the cohesiveness of sound helps but mainly its something pleasant to have on while vacuuming or doing the dishes as it lacks any major OMG showstopping pop moments.

The problem is that that's not really good enough, is it? I'm just astonished that this is the best they can cobble together after all the feedback from X.

Christ. I made the mistake of posting my review on SayHey. Cue 3 pages of Al Kylieda going into meltdown. :lmao:

I was only posting there recently to keep abreast of any leaks and stuff. Plus I wanted to know about the iTunes releases of her albums.

Up until today I was actually pleasantly surprised with the place. There were some people who were only too ready to admit her failings, so it seemed ok. Most of them replying to my thread seem to be not quite so enlightened. Still, there are some people telling the assholes to back off, so it's not all bad.

The same thing has happened on Popjustice.

Sounds fair enough then

Togerland is a good medium of Kylie fans for me... you get the loons but you get the objective people too, and of course the other end who hate her. It's all good fun :)

I can't stop listening to Get Outta My Way... its the only song I feel compelled to listen to! lol.... hope its the 2nd single!!

today's ratings

1. All The Lovers 10/10
2. Get Outta My Way 8/10
3. Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love) 5/10 (-1) how on earth would they choose this over that other lovely song of the same title?
4. Closer 10/10
5. Everything Is Beautiful 8/10 (+1) retro 80s power synth ballad - quite a grower
6. Aphrodite 8/10 still charming, though not the grand showstopper it was hyped up to be
7. Illusion 6/10 (-1)
8. Better Than Today 7/10 (+2) it took a couple more listens to click, a very well crafted pop song this is
9. Too Much 5/10 promising verses, but then i just cannot stand the chorus
10. Cupid Boy 6/10 it reminds me a lot of love affair off fever, only that one was superior
11. Looking For An Angel 4/10 (-2) gets worse with each listen. expect numerous b-sides/leaked demos to shit all over this turd
12. Can’t Beat The Feeling 8/10 (+1) light years revisited

a joyful album this is, yet i cannot help but feel a bit puzzled on how kylie and her team still give the green card to obvious filler even though in position to pick up material of far higher quality.

i'm very curious on the singles they'll pick out of the bunch. it's gonna be a tricky task for numerous reasons

if the 5 singles plan is to be believed -i doubt it as they probably hint this to build up more hype on the album- my guess would be

2 get outta my way - ok i know it's been announced already, but this is really the only option to appeal to the masses while the album's still iron hot. the previous love at first sight twin brother saved x from disaster, it's a no brainer the youngest one could fare samwise just in case...
3 everything is beautiful - arriving just in time for the christmas market and showing a bit of diversity to attract some non power bottom casual fans
4-5 it could either be a matter between put your hands up and can't beat the feeling, closer and cupid boy, or aphrodite and too much. it's funny how in the absence of blatantly obvious singles so many tracks may rise up to the occasion. my choices would be closer -very unlikely to happen- and can't beat the feeling. i think they'll go for too much and put your hands up, which i both dislike.

shouldn't it be on youtube :hurt:

Yes, Kylie was on Ross tonight. She gave a typically sweet but dull interview and then performed All The Lovers and Love At First Sight!
