DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Navigating Downtown can be tricky enough without running into an unexpected street closure. We'll try to help you out, posting notices from film shoots that include full street closures.

Grand Avenue will be closed from 2nd to 5th most of the weekend as HSI Productions shoots what appears to be a music video under the production name 'Kylie.'

The closure will start at 4am on Saturday, May 8, and run continuously until 11pm on Sunday, May 9. The one block of 3rd street atop Bunker Hill will also be closed over the same period.

HSI is big-time in the music video and commercial world, with a slate of directors that includes David LaChapelle, Brett Ratner and Hype Williams.
The shoot is listed with the production name 'Kylie.' Australian singer Kylie Minogue is getting set to debut a new album, but nothing in the notice says for sure who will be on-stage on Grand.

DESCRIPTION OF SCENE: Atmospheric smoke effects. Driving scenes. Driving shots. Equipment on sidewalk, in curb lane & across the street. Exterior dialogue. Exterior performance and playback. Handheld equipment. Occasional traffic and pedestrian control. Wetting of street and wind effects. Green screen in streets. Trucks & equipment parked overnight. Scaffolding in street. Performance stage in street. Talent on mechanical rig hanging from stage. Condos, cranes, prop banners & signs. Beebe light/nite, camera cars, condor, generator, crane, picture vehicles, & scissor lifts.

Yesterday I had the d'luvvly privilege of being invited to Capitol Records to have a listen to the new Kylie Minogue album, Aphrodite. And while I wish I could do a full-on review here and now, I'd get the electric chair for giving away any song title info just yet.

What can be said is that, while previous album X had some great moments on it, Aphrodite is miles ahead of that one. Executive producer Stuart Price and Kylie have managed to craft a completely cohesive record that flows flawlessly from song to song (I heard 11 altogether, though they were not a continuous mix). And with first single "All The Lovers," that snippet is only the tippy-top of the iceberg.

It's Kylie getting back to Kylie. We saw flashes of that on X. But prepare for a full-on disco ride that never relents. Think "In My Arms" and "The One" and "Love At First Sight" and "Wow"—and especially "I Believe In You"—but with so many more layers to each song. And no ballads, save for one mid-tempo-ish number.

Summer 2010 has its party album, folks.

Here's a LQ 1:23 clip of the song from someone present at the video shoot. The song sounds pretty strong, but hard to tell I guess...

From News of the World:

KYLIE is BACK. And back in a BIG way.

Yesterday I had a First Listen to the pop princess' massive comeback track, co-produced by MADONNA's mastermind STUART PRICE (the cone bra isn't the only thing she's pinched from her idol).

All The Lovers is a No1 without any doubt. In fact, it's one of the best Kylie songs EVER.

Combine the pulsating beat of Can't Get You Out Of My Head and beautiful melody of I Believe In You - and you've got some idea of quite how good it is.

It will dominate the airwaves at the end of next week and her long-awaited new album, Aphrodite, is out July.

Yeah, the "swollen" face is always a giveaway, but overall she looks nice alright!
