Howard looks good for 46
howard looks good full stop. most people half his age wish they could be as fit as him.

I like this a lot. But no single will ever top The Flood.

They removed the official YouTube audio for some reason. Here's a fan made lyric video:

how underwhelming. who an earth thought this is good enough to build hype for the album just a week before its release?

Yeah, I think it's really flat also. Very banal.

I'm sure on their FB, they said they were posting a new song each day this week, yet they took this song down a few hours later and nothing else has appeared since.

Weird.

Radio rip of new song "Let In The Sun":

With each new song, I think I'm understanding why Jason really left. Talk about bland. That chorus is soooo flat and lazy.

They sound like songs that were too boring for Gary Barlow's dreadful solo album.

Alas this album will not be a patch on the rather spiffing Progress.

Definitely sounds like a major step back alright. :sadalexz:

that's 2/2 boring album tracks so far. surely u don't really expect from an act like take that to drastically depart from their signature sound and dare experimenting, but then progress felt like they were actually confident enough to try new things out. obviously this isn't the case this time around.

I wouldn't really have a problem with them making uber safe/MOR music again, but if they're going to do that, at least make the songs as genuinely strong as they used to be, a la Rule The World, Patience etc. These are utterly forgettable and flat.

oh, i definitely agree. gary's songwriting talent cannot be disputed, but it definitely feels like he's taken a lazy, this will do approach for the only reason take that brand had to release a music product this christmas

Indeed. It's quite a risk, as it could be argued that without Robbie and now without Jason too, they really needed to release genuinely brilliant music, now more than ever!

Another snoozeworthy new song, "Portrait", can be heard here:

I'm not going to judge the album yet, but I'll just say that I've listened to it once and have no desire to do it again.

i gave it a sort of first listen as i didn't have the courage going through the majority of most tracks. such an abysmal, disappointing effort overall. this is take that, therefore i never expect them to deliver a killer set from start to finish, but this time i couldn't even pick a handful of highlights. this album's consisted of the obvious single and a dozen of half baked, generic filler, b side worthy tracks. the only song i bothered revisiting was give you my love - not that it's anything special, but at least carries a distinctive sound and melody, oh and bless howard for his lead vocals.

I know. When will they stop trying to make "Howard the vocalist" happen! :chuckle:

I'm sort of afraid to listen to it a second time, incase it still sounds awful. So depressing to think that such a reliable band have released such a duff album. :sadalexz:

i can actually envision a video of give you my love starring just semi naked howard while at a sauna with sweat all over his body and holding a tiny towel to hide his genital. full back nudity should be required, though.

it really is a dire effort overall. perhaps barlow has gone so full of himself he thinks he can write any generic, faux anthemic pop tune and people will lap it up nevertheless. what with their success as a stadium touring act, i sincerely believe they now think of their brand as the pop equivalent of coldplay.
