Coldplay For May Coldplay's 'Prospekt' album is expected to be released in May. The forth album, produced by Brian Eno, will be the follow-up to the 2005 hit 'X&Y'. 'Prospekt' is the final album owed to EMI under Coldplay's contract. Already, they have been making comments about leaving the label after this record. EMI has been battered in recent times following its $6.3 billion buy-out by investment group Terra Firma. EMI jewels Radiohead and Paul McCartney left in 2007. Robbie Williams is also stating he wants out. Coldplay went cold on EMI during 2005 when the label issued a stock priced warning based on a potential delay for a Coldplay record. 'Prospekt' is expected to be around 43 minutes long. Songs recorded for the album, but not yet confirmed for the release are: Famous Old Painters Glass Of Water Lost! Cemeteries of London Violet Hill Poppy Fields 42 Yes! Leftrightleftright Rainy Day Prospeckt's March |

I adore them. They make wonderful music. Their last album was released in 2005, so it's not as if they're churning them out rapidly either. |

I couldn't give a damn how much nusic is played. I listen to music when *I* want to. Truly good music stands up to repeated plays anyway, and for me they make truly great music. There's no way in hell that I'm wishing they'd go away for 10 years just because their music is so popular it gets played a lot. |

I liked their 1st 2 albums but was disappointed by X&Y as it seemed like an attempt at stadium rock in places. Looking forward to this new one though |

Music label EMI is to allow brands to sponsor its artists for the first time. The record company, which is expected to announce around 2,000 job cuts today (January 15), is looking at ways it can boost revenue following its take over by private equity company Terra Firma. According to Marketing Week the label, whose acts include the likes of Coldplay, Babyshambles and Kylie Minogue, will allow companies to associate themselves with their release, although the exact nature of the “sponsorship” is yet to be revealed. As previously reported, several artists including The Verve, Robbie Williams and Coldplay are said to be unhappy with the changes and are considering withholding their albums from EMI. |

Ooh. Who could sponsor Kylie? Lidl? Easyjet? OK! magazine? The possibilities are ENDLESS. |

Coldplay are weeks from finishing their new album, according to a letter on their website. The album, which they have denied is called ‘Prospekt’, requires another ten mixes and the re-recording of a complete song. “In times gone by I would have set aside a month to re-record a track. However, the week before Christmas we recorded two tracks in four days – ‘Lovers In Japan’ and ‘Strawberry Swing’.” The message on the website described the period of recording over Christmas, which also saw Chris Martin write two new songs, as “the most productive and exciting week we’ve ever had in the studio.” It’s not yet known when the album, which has been produced alongside Brian Eno, will be released. |

I hated coldplay's first album. By album two, I had fallen in love. By album three, it was a long term relationship. |
