Yes, it reeks of Mariah Carey desperation. Next, Britney will be giving all her fans $.99 coupons to purchase the song on iTunes on all the same day to ensure a #1.

MTV poll - results are in

"Britney Spears Will Dominate 2011 Over Lady Gaga, According To Readers

Posted 1 hr ago by Kyle Anderson in Music

There are a lot of albums to look forward to in 2011, including new music from the likes of Kanye West, Jay-Z, U2, Lil Wayne, Foo Fighters and Drake. But there are two albums that will undoubtedly have the pop universe talking, arguing and singing along for most of the next 12 months. Both Lady Gaga and Britney Spears will be releasing new music in 2011, and both will surely come packaged with killer singles, eye-popping videos, can't-miss tours and conversation-starting television appearances. Gaga has already started to reveal details (and her butt) about Born This Way, while the final release date and title for Spears' upcoming release are still up in the air (though it's almost certain that the two will be putting out their new music relatively close to one another).

So when the two biggest female voices in pop music both put out hotly-anticipated new albums, which one will dominate the year? That's exactly the question the MTV Newsroom Blog presented to the readers and fans on Monday (January 3). After over 100,000 votes and an incredible amount of back-and-forth between supporters of both women (there were over 1,100 comments on the blog post), one icon stood supreme at the end of the day.

According to the voters, Britney Spears will be the dominant diva in 2011. Spears took home 62 percent of the total vote, notching well over 70,000 votes over the 24 hour period when the poll was left open. Gaga acquitted herself nicely, picking up 38 percent of the vote (approximately 45,000 clicks) in the poll. Many fans seemed to be sharply divided within themselves, as they admitted fandom for both ladies in question. But in the end, the majority sided with Spears, with many citing the fact that Britney has been dominant for much longer than Gaga has, and thus she knows better how to operate on top. No matter who ends up selling more or generating more heat, there will certainly be plenty of headline-grabbing songs to hold our attention in 2011."

Actually, most people find it ridiculous. It's so forced, it's not even funny. This ain't 2000 anymore. Britney's fans live in the past. They're past it like their idol. They were 11 and 12 years old when she came out. Now, they're old and bitter. Britney is no competition for anyone. Beyonce is coming out with a new album this year. THAT'S the real rivalry!

No, she's just waiting until the 4th Quarter so she can come out of nowhere at the end of the year and blow all of them out of the water.

It's official, she's OFFICIALLY "Mariah desperate"!

Good Christ!

According to more of what I’ve been told (insert rumor alert here for thick headed trolls), Team Spears has decided that html widgets pushing Britney on general music blogs (not just a facebook campaign) will pull in mainstream public that may not be thinking about her new music and this will give her a leg up on other pop performers that are currently hot such as Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Rihanna and Lady Gaga.

General music blogs have been chosen specifically to start pushing the single promo out into the general population, and yes, this could still include having “like” buttons on the widgets for getting facebook and even twitter followers — as a way to “up” Britney’s twitter followers too since she’s fallen to third place behind Bieber and Gaga. This could actually accomplish quite a bit if its done right.

Another radio station (Hot0995 via WOB) has posted a rumor that the widgets will also include a “buy now” link that will be shared on Twitter to potentially millions, AND promotions will be shared by multiple radio stations too. (Maybe widgets on their websites?)

Apparently they’ve decided to encompass massive social media targets on all fronts – to get Britney in front of as many eyes as possible. If this plan comes to fruition, the label will target music blogs and all social media tools, not to mention fan sites who already talk about her, and that could pretty much guarantee massive coverage.

PITB, MuuMuse, along with MusicFiend.com have both now been contacted today to take part in the campaign along with muumuse and one other that I cant recall right now.

It’s probably only a matter of time now before we see an invite out to Perezhilton, Popbytes, theprophetblog and many more music blogs. Once we actually see that start happening and the widgets are out, we SHOULD have our single in no time!!

Here's the demo of the single.

Popjustice has this to say though: "The next time you hear this song...the production, vocal and structure will sound very different.

And you don't have very long to wait."
