An Usher vs. Britney Spears debate?

How utterly destitute.

It's not even debatable, Britney is bigger than Usher, only Tik Tok and his delusion, defending the male Janet :sadbitch:

99.9% of people outside of the US would struggle to think of a single Usher song. He might sell a few records, but he doesn't have a single pop classic to his name. Even Britney has has 2 or 3 incredibly famous songs.

Usher's "success" really mystifies me. He think he's some sort of Michael Jackson for a new generation, yet he doesn't have a single genuinely great song to his name. He has zero personality and generic dancing skills. Astonishing.

Agreed. US project only. But she was looking a companion on the US dates, isn't she? Though I think Usher has too much ego to go with this. He is the new king of pop, don't you forget this!

:lol2: He certainly has ego in spades! If only his talent was as big as his ego.

Sorry, but you're wrong, and the industry dubbed Usher the next Michael Jackson a decade ago. He's not pop, which is probably the reason you don't know how big he actually is.

So you use another English market to prove his not localness :sadbitch:
Newsflash: the majority of the Western world speaks English.
Yeah sure, all 6 countries that speak English make the "majority" of the Western World :sadbitch:
Uh, what? You can't be that stupid.

"Yeah!" is one of the biggest global hit songs of all time. The notion that people outside the US wouldn't be able to name a single Usher song is a bit ridiculous.

And at the moment, Usher is certainly more successful than Britney.

You and TickTock really are talking out of your arses. Typical Americans thinking that the entire world revolves around them, when it really, really doesn't.

Love her or loathe her, Britney Spears is a modern pop legend. A massive, massive star around the world, regardless of her record sales. Usher is a moderately successful pop star, nothing more.

Eh, no. That is not ridiculous at all. That's the truth. Deal with it.

Utter nonsense. 99% of the population would respond with a "Huh?" if you asked them to hum that song over here. Was it a hit? Yes. Was it a second-tier, forgettable hit? Yes.

You wouldn't have that problem with "Hit Me Baby One More Time" or "Toxic".

Regardless of Usher, Britney is not a music legend. She's a pop culture icon that will be remembered for breakdowns and having no talent, not her music. She already gets laughable recurrent radio airplay, even in the US, and even her greatest hits' catalog sales are nearly non-existent.

Once again, the US is one country. Her older hits are played all the time over here.

And she remains a far, far bigger star than a non-entity like Usher will ever be.
