Success and longevity is the very definition of bigger impact. It means she has a lot of people paying attention. Use your head.
Spice Girls' initial impact was way beyond anything Britney ever reached. It's only when you compare Britney's entire career that you can get something on the same scale.
Baby One More Time was massive hit but it never equaled the hysteria of SG

I can't even name a single Spice Girls song other than Wannabe and a member other than the black one and the one with the big tits. We are not talking about Romania and Serbia here.

Well when you claim there was some sort of neverending hysteria about the Spice Girls, I can only assume it was one of those countries like Slovakia where people don't get TV and still faint over Michael Jackson and Madonna. I was THERE remember.

He said cultural impact. Britney is a laughing stock to everyone with taste at least a tad bit discerning. Her last album couldn't sniff 1 million, a huge decline from the album before it. Her last tour was a huge drop off from the one before it. Much like Mariah she had a brief fluke comeback and will now fade in to oblivion.

Gaga is curently #1 in Romania only so I kinda understand your point. (just joking)
I never said anything about "neverending hysteria" about Spice Girls, just that their initial cultural impact was bigger than Britney's entire career. I don't know anyone who cares about them now. (same as Britney)
MJ never had that enormous hysterical fanbase here, and neither did Madonna (her lowest selling S&S concert was in Belgrade)... believe it or not people are that nuts about The Prodigy and Metallica here.

At least she put out an album unlike the Spice Girls. I fail to see what impact has to do with taste but you're welcome to feel superior that you don't like Britney Spears. Hate is so ugly.

The only reason why people with “taste” look down on Britney is her public image and breakdown, down-to-earth and not-give-a-fuck attitude. She's hated for being “White trash,” bad mom, unhealthy etc etc (which is also stupid, because Rihanna is far trashier and just a nasty human being, yet she's being idolized by the GP). But people who appreciate pop music and music video in general, also appreciate the impact Britney Spears has had on both. She got the Princess of Pop title for a reason.

And since when is the general public's opinion an indicator of good taste anyways? Most ppl I know say Madonna should sit her old ass down (that's literally what they say), and that does not make her a bad artist. Britney Spears is a fine artist. She's just too real and people can't handle it.

Femme Fatale produced three WW #1 singles, as well as her first #VEVOCertified video, which impressive for an act that started in the 90s. The album was not a big seller, but that doesn't define Britney Spears (Teenage Dream had 8 singles and promo, and is at 2xP. That's a disappointment.). It was clear that from start to end, she did NOT care about this era herself, so why would anyone expect it to sell. Much like Blackout (which was critically acclaimed), it sold without Britney's effort mostly thanks to her name.

Britney Spears' cultural impact is undeniable. My grandfather, who was born in the 20s Soviet Union, knows who she is.

have to say I love what this autumn will bring, but the next 2 years should be a fucking boredom. I really wish Sophie and Kylie will postpone their new music. It's just too much already.

I *pray* that RuPaul will not be featured on this song in ANY form. This is embarrassing already.
