I can't be bothered rating it, because it's pretty naff.

Incidentally, I listened to the Girls Aloud album this morning, which blows Britney out of the water!

God yeah. It's an ENTIRELY different league. Actually, it blows 99% of all albums released this year out of the water.

Britney Spears - Circus

It was a minor pop miracle that when our ears were gifted with Spears’ last album, “Blackout”, its highlights managed to be as exciting as the tabloid fare that surrounded its release.

Coming just a year later, “Circus” no doubt hopes to keep the momentum going. But while “Blackout” frequently thrilled because it sounded like a car crash undergoing an electro make-over, it’s hard to tell this collection apart from all the other big budget American albums that have no doubt been focused-grouped and work-shopped to death.

That’s not to say that “Circus” is without merit. All the usual Britney ingredients are here: android-esque vocals, hooks a plenty, hopeless but endearing attempts at raunch, and the odd inspired left-turn. You’ll be dancing to it, certainly, but you’ll only consider it edgy or interesting if your idea of a wild night out is one spent down the mall.

In fact, the finest fare on offer (“Blur”, “Kill the Lights”, “Womanizer”) isn’t really anything we haven’t heard before, and there’s nothing here that’s fit to curl the lashes of Girls Aloud’s latest.

Maybe next time someone should give Neil Tennant a call?

Thanks, love. Although, I've just noticed that I used the word "fare" twice. Duh!

Maybe my sub-editor will pick up on it. :sadbitch:

Circus is really different from Blackout, and definitely not a "Blackout version 2". I think it's closer to In The Zone (and I love it).

How on earth is Womanizer better than Gimme More?

Well, both have EXTREMELY repetitive choruses, but Womanizer is a bit more catchy.

#12 was a tough choice too. Both songs are... pretty average but Why Should I Be Said is one of the worst tracks she's ever recorded.

Why Should I Be Sad is one of the highlights of Blackout for me. I love it. It's so simple.
