actually i kept 3 of the 4 tracks, which is not that bad....

they're ok.

You do understand that "not that bad" and "ok" is simply not good enough, don't you?

How on earth can people be satisifed by "not that bad" and "ok"?

see, i'm *not* a huge janet fan, that's why i wasn't expecting much.

I still don't really understand you. Why are you so determined to defend and praise music that simply isn't very good, just because "you weren't expecting much".

I can just see that on the album sticker "Not bad because I wasn't expecting much"!

What's so wrong with expecting great music from supposedly a superstar artist who we've admired in the past?

There is a beat that kicks in near the end of the Bathroom Break interlude that sounds AWESOME. Shame it's JUST an interlude

I see then infamous CHIME sounds have returned in the '4 Words' interlude :lol2:

'What's Your Name' sounds like it may have potential, though nothing "new".

The ballads overall seem rather shit.

Hearing the leaked songs and the samples, there is stuff on here i like, some really cool, some decent..........but A LOT of shit too. It's very patchy, kinda like her last 2 albums really.

Anyway, hopefully it all leaks soon, i just wanna hear it in full.

Ok verdict: I'm really pleased with this. It has what 20 YO was lacking: good A&R and a focus. Janet ia back to dance pop in a HUGE way. Takes Rihannas and Britneys records and does them one better. CANNOT WAIT to listen to the full thing. Rollecoaster and So Much Betta are catchy as fuck.

Holy F*ck!

You think this dross is better than Britney's "Blackout" or even Rihanna's stuff? I actually used to think you had decent taste in music.

Yes I think it takes the electro-rnb elements from Blackout and the euro-pop elements from GGGB and really melds them into something worthwhile. Sure, it's not as REVOLUTIONARY as Touch My Body (youtuuuuuuube, youtuuuuuube) but it's something. Get over it.

Unfortunately, they've forgotten to include a decent tune. All the production in the world can't rescue these limp, lifeless, forgettable melodies. It doesn't help that they're sung by someone with a paper-thin voice either.

I really think you are officially a Janet LOON. You're so blinded by some weird devotion to her that you can't see how shit these songs are. You're the Karbatal of the Janet world.

See I could say the exact same thing about you and Marrah. Except I'm not going to bother. You can float in the endless dross of her AC ballads and I can enjoy the 'limp' Janet tunes. Ok? Ok.

Mariah's melodies are generally excellent. I mean, there's a reason "Touch My Body" is blowing up on radio already. The hook is insanely catchy. She doesn't really do bad melodies. It's not her thing. Janet used to have such wonderful songs up until the last few years, but it's over for her. She can't honestly churn out shite like this and expect non-loons to get excited over such tuneless, lifeless drivel.

I used to *love* the bitch, but not anymore. This is one shit album too many,

You didn't even give her a chance. In any case, we will both get a little shot of what we like and hopefully Madonna will blow both out of the water and we can have something to listen to together :flirt2:
