It's not fair to compare Janet to Michael, the latter is a LEGEND [I know :manson: ] while the former it's just his sister.

she may be just his sister, but floppita used to be quite popular in the uk with a run of several consecutive top10 hits throughout the 90s.

Huh? She has only ever managed a "run" of 3 consecutive Top 10 hits in the UK.

She was never popular in the UK until the "janet." and "Velvet Rope" albums. Since then she has tanked.

When you're being outsold by Kylie, you know your career's really going down the shitter.

Poor Janice.

:P

in all fairness, i cannot think of a female artist with a record contract that is actually selling less than janice in the uk these days, and that includes poor mutya who's just been dropped even though her sales in the past year surpass those of vomita's last two efforts combined by a long shot.

Indeed. It must be hard-wired into her contract that she can't actually be dropped. Poor Mutya is having to resort to playing second rate gay clubs to make ends meet these days. I wonder if she regrets her decision to leave Suagabes. If she doesn't, she must be nuts as well as thick.

i've just checked the bible aka the guiness book of the uk singles, and guess what, u were right. still, i've counted 17 top10hits overall, a rather respectable figure i must say. true, she was never huge in the uk-after all, her biggest album seller in britain, janet, only got to double platinum status, yet up to damita jo, she had managed to sustain a consistent fanbase that could secure decent chart positions for her releases.

Yeah, she was a minor star at best over here. Not a single Rhythm Nation single made the Top 10 in the UK. *ouch*

She only really tanked in the UK when the shit music started to happen, which is fair enough.

They cancelled the physical single release because it fared so badly on downloads.

Has the bitch set one foot inside the UK to promote it though? Of course not, that'd make too much sense!

I know we always have the whole US vs UK arguement in terms of quality but the fact that none of the Rhythm Nation singles made the top 10 in the UK says just as much as Flo Rida hitting #1 in the US for 8 weeks does.
