I've listened to about six of the tracks so far. No Rhythm Nation, but at least a huge step up from 20 Y.O.

I wonder if 'Discipline' the album will sell more than 50,000 copies in Europe?

Eek! Does anyone have the sales figures for her entire career in the US, Europe etc?

I just listened to Discipline for the first time.

I do think it's a much better and cohesive effort than 20 Y.O. was, but that's about it. The album is mostly mediocre. There's nothing godawful on the album, but at the same time, there really isn't anything that stands out. It's basically like she went into a studio, knowing what caused 20 to be a massive failure, and records an album of pop songs, dance songs, lite-hip hop numbers and some AC-ish ballads just as an effort to salvage her career, which has been in severe decline since Nipplegate.

I will give the album more chances, I just feel like her heart isn't at all in the album and that it's more or less an attempt to reverse the downward spiral her sales have been in. There's a lot of catchy songs on here, but most of it is forgettable five minutes later. Every album up till now (even 20 Y.O. had a few standout songs in the midst of all the wretchedness) had "this song is great" moments on there, Discipline is just so-so.

Agree with every single thing you said.

I wasn't supposed to tell this to anyone but the CD actually has the key to Janet's vagina. She finally decided to let us in her temple of inspiration but only to the people that buy the CD. So you see the purchase is of VITAL importance.

PLUS the lucky listeners will have the priviledge to share the tight(?) space with Jermaine Dupri which is a prize in itself.
