Okay, I have to say I really like the video for Rock With U. I love that it's all in one take, the dancing looks good (the audio is off in the link you posted though, which kinda ruins it) and it's just good fun, especially the ending is very cute!

I like it. It's nothing new, no, but these days, doing something new for a video is really a waste of time.

It's still the best song she's done since All For You.

JD's rubbing off on her by this Mariah-ish promo (remember Mariah became obsessed with #1's around the time JD worked with her)

232k sold on the first week, those are 52k sold outside the United States.

She couldn't even sell as much as "Charmbracelet" and "American Life" sold in the US in their first week. :manson:

To be fair, no one sells that amount anymore. Rihanna sold just as much as Janet.

"Charmbracelet" and "American Life" both sold 240k in the US only in the first week. "Discipline" couldn't even sell that much around the world. That's what I meant.

That is VERY true. I was just saying that what she sold in America, is what a lot of albums sell now. 2003, is nothing compared to now. The sales are all the way down. Thank god for iTunes!

'Feedback' hits the No. 1 spot on Billboard's dance chart
"Feedback" will rise one position and hit the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Hot Dance/Club Play chart for the week ending March 22, 2008 when the charts get officially announced next week.

Billboard's Hot Dance/Club Play chart -- unlike the other charts -- gets compiled a week in advance and therefore its positions are often known a few days before it is officially released by Billboard.

"Feedback" becomes the 18th No. 1 song of Janet's career on the dance chart. The 1987 track "Diamonds," which features Janet on lead vocals, did reach No. 1 on that chart, however Billboard does not consider it to be one of Janet's songs since only Herb Alpert's name was credited for the song by the record company at the time.

The remaining charts will be released on Thursday morning.

The full list of Janet's peaks on the Billboard charts can be found in the Knowledge section of the Janet|Xone website. The statistics for "Feedback" will be added to that page after it has peaked on all of the charts.

Oh dear.

Only 19 more and she'll catch up to Madonna. Considering Madonna doesn't get anymore.

:lmao:

All female singers get the top spot on that chart anyway, hardly an acomplishment.

So that's why Madonna has *twice* as many as the #2 act - Janet - on this chart, far bigger than the gaps between Janet and #3, #3 and #4, etc?

Madonna's success on this chart is far and away greater than anyone else's. It throws any of that "anybody can top this chart" bullshit out the window.

According to HDD Discipline is headed for 50,000 to 55,000 copies sold in its second week in the US, thus falling several positions. That would be a drop of over 70%.

Ouch ! that is a big drop. I'm surprised Rock with you is not connecting with US radio. It's miles better than that new mumu sped up WBT drivel.

I'm not surprised. I love Rock With U, but it's not ghetto enough for US radio, which still refuses to get off it's hip hop trip even tho the days of Eminem and 50 Cent having blockbusters date back to a period when new episodes of Friends were still being made.

Maybe next year with a new president, things will change (remember when Clinton came into office in 93 and pretty much the entire music industry revolutionized and changed?). The music industry has been pretty much in the same rut ever since Shrub came into office in 2001.

Well apparently she will go over to Europe for proper promotion and then Asia.

I can't understand why they would go ahead and release the album and then start promoting it when it starts tumbling down the charts.

I think they wanted to take advantage of any hype from the single and video and then hopefully have it rebound once she comes over.
