Oh come on. After all that hype, it was utterly mediocre at best. Completely forgettable.

That may be, but her so-called last chance, is her next album.

How many last chances can someone have? She's had three gigantic flop albums in a row now.

She's the last surviving musical Jackson. That's why she gets another one. She also got rid of fucking Jermaine Dupri who was literally running her career for the last seven years.

Give Janet a chance. If Whitney can come back, why can't Miss J?

Sunday night, on the red carpet of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Grammy-winning super-producer Rodney Jerkins spoke fondly of his late friend Michael Jackson and how MJ once beat him at pool. Jerkins also revealed that he and the King of Pop's baby sis, Janet Jackson, have been collaborating a lot lately. The first record from their sessions, "Make Me," dropped just a few hours later.

"It's about dancing," Jerkins said. "It's all about her. It's about [saying], 'Listen, if you really want to get with me, you gotta make me feel a certain way.' "

Jerkins, who produced several tracks on Janet's 2008 album, Discipline, said he and Ms. Jackson have a lot more songs to come.

"I'm working heavily with Janet," Jerkins said, adding that her new album will have a throwback feel. "We've been in the studio for the last month. We've been getting it in. We're going back to basics and fundamentals sounds of Janet. We're trying to target her fans [by making] the records that her fans will embrace. A lot of uptempo stuff makes you feel good. There's so many different colors of Janet. I'm a fan, I've always been a fan of Janet. The Rhythm Nation, the Control, the janet. record ... those make you feel a certain way. It's been fun. I'm excited about it."

Jerkins was also excited about Jackson's performance in the tribute to her brother on Sunday. "I came to support Janet," he said. "I love what MTV does, but I'm here for Janet. It's a special moment, because I worked for years with Michael and became real close friends with him. For her to do a tribute for him, it's gonna be an amazing thing. It's one thing to get up and perform and get accolades for yourself, but this is not what this about. It's about brotherly love."

Well if "Make Me" is any indication of the stuff they're working on, she's in for yet another gigantic flop album. It's piss poor.

Only because it was a Michael Jackson tribute.

I don't think so, I think we're beyond all that now... There was proper energy in her performance, it was great.

She wasn't even perfectly in time with Michael in the bit where they dance together.

Anyway...

"The Making Of Janet Jackson’s Video Music Award Tribute Performance will give a behind the scenes look at Janet's performance "from the first day of rehearsals in Los Angeles, CA to show day when Janet and her team of choreographers took to the stage for the performance of a lifetime, where they recreated one of the most unforgettable music videos ever, Scream."

No, she wasn't perfectly in time, but we disregard that because it was great anyway... There was a lot of pressure on her and to be fair, she hasn't been dancing like that since 2001. So give her a break.

It was good, just thought it could've been better. I expected her to be onstage for way longer actually.

Yeah so did I. But she only ever did Scream with Michael, for her to hog more time on stage would've been a bit selfish in a way. I liked that she kept it simple and left the rest to the dancers.

But she looked good and you can't deny the fact that the minute or so she spent on stage was energetic for ONCE!
