I agree that it sounds a bit slight and generic whiney Adele song for a Bond theme. Maybe it builds into something more majestic though.

Anastasia loves it, so that pretty much confirms what a disappointment it is.

Or perhaps I can't understand all the multiple layers and complex, hidden meanings.
:lol2: the layers, no :lmao:
I'm GP too much, gotcha.

I maybe not expect dimonds in the sky, just good, quality songs are very nice for me. It has been too long since I stan for a song. Can't even recall.

I'll assume it does. The clip is probably near the start of the song and it's under 90 seconds long. The whole song is 4:46, so plenty of time for stuff to happen.

I expect this to sound like a typical generic pathetic housewife music that Adele is known for, plus some Bond orchestrations
I wish they wouldn't play it safe for a change.
Pick someone who can actually experiment with the whole concept or at least make it fresh, like Bjork, Beth Ditto, Gwen Stefani, Roisin Murphy etc

I think Jack and Alicia's one was pretty experimental, no? It was Bond, but not a typical Bond tune.

Even Madonna's was radically different from any other Bond theme.

I like this thing to remain classic Bond sound. She made i, I think. The collection of Bond songs seems not that cohesive at all, cause of 'experiments' and poor choices of songs.

I do like the "classic Bond" sound too. It has to be a cracking song too though. We shall see...

The more I listen to the clip, the more addictive it gets! And this is just the first verse. I bet the ending will be epic!

Really loving the clip now. Apparently the final part of the song is very dramatic and bombastic. :drama:

Nice to hear a traditional Bond-style theme tune again.

Yeah, it just sounds so classic. It's not trying to be hip or break any new ground.

This has a very good shot at a #1 Hot 100 debut. Downloads will go through the roof immediately and initial airplay at Pop, AC, and Hot AC will be huge.

perhaps it even has a shot at this week's uk number one slot, too. the release may only take advantage of two days of sales, but there's no doubt it's gonna explode right away. riri may have a very comfortable lead and set to sell 150k+ copies, but if there's one artist that could experience unprecedented demand for her new music, that's adelle.

I could be wrong, but I'm not so sure the song will explode like that. Unlike GaGa, Rihanna, Katy etc, Adele's fans are too busy wandering around garden centres or changing nappies, to realiese there's a new song being released.

World premiere in less than 10 hours! :drama:

At 7 minutes past midnight tonight (00.07 geddit), Xfm's John Kennedy (the very first person to play Adele on radio anywhere in the world!!!) will play the full version of the brand new James Bond theme Skyfall.

We can tell you this: it's a proper classic Bond song. It was recorded at Abbey Road and has got a 77 piece orchestra on it and everything!

Earlier this week the singer admitted she was "hesitant" about recording the track.

There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song," she added. "But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no-brainer to do it in the end."

We will also play it on breakfast and throughout the day on Xfm tomorrow too.
