Adele working with Phil Collins on new tracks

The former Genesis star revealed in a recent interview with Inside South Florida that he was contacted by the singer for a future collaboration.

Collins said: "I've just started to work with Adele. She contacted me to write together.

"I wasn't actuality too aware [of her]. I live in a cave [but] she's achieved an incredible amount and I really love her voice and I love some of that stuff she's done."

He added: "So, to me, it's always an eye-opener. Educational."

Adele was officially awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace by Prince Charles in December.

She is currently thought to be working on the follow-up to 21, which is expected to be released later this year.

In November, Phil Collins strongly hinted that he was planning a return to music.

Adele's worked with Max Martin. :drama:

Danger Mouse has been working on the album, and Max Martin has contributed a single. Canadian singer-songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr. also has written a (reportedly, standout) track, and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder is back in the mix after producing and co-writing “Rumour Has It” on 21.

Am I the only one to find her quite boring to date?

Singles aside, her albums are snoozefests.

Oh I think she's RIDICULOUSLY overrated, but I did enjoy most of the second album and I adored Skyfall.

Am I the only one to find her quite boring to date?

Singles aside, her albums are snoozefests.

The 4 singles were literally the only decent songs on 21.

The bridge is the only notable part of Skyfall. The production and instrumentation elsewhere are banal and the lyrics are retarded.

Damon Albarn has disappointed fans expecting the third Adele album to take a drill’n’bass direction by saying that the tracks he has heard are “very middle of the road”.

The Blur frontman worked with Adele on five songs for her forthcoming, much-delayed album, now set to be released in November.

Albarn told the Sun: “Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her. And I’m not a producer, so … I don’t know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don’t think so. Let’s wait and see. The thing is, she’s very insecure. And she doesn’t need to be, she’s still so young.”

The album is also said to include contributions from Danger Mouse, Max Martin, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Canadian singer/songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr. The latter was the subject of one of Adele’s seven tweets over the course of this year.

Albarn added: “I heard the work she did with my friend Brian, aka Danger Mouse. It’s very middle of the road.” Danger Mouse also produced the second Gorillaz album.

However, Ed Sheeran has recently been more positive about the album, expected to be titled 25, and which follows up the 30m-selling 21.

In July he told Capital FM: “I haven’t heard it, but everyone I know who’ve worked on it is just like, ‘Dude … that record!’ Apparently it’s really good.”

Sounds to me like she may be overthinking this album. She might have waited too long also. There's such massive expectation, I can hear the knives sharpening already.

she should have released it a year ago, that's true. it's not like her olympics sized pool is running empty of cash any time soon, so no need to get anxious about commercial success.

No matter what way you slice it she's in a for an Alanis/Hootie & The Blowfish/Dido/Norah-level album to album commercial decline with this next release. '21' was huge in the moment but not a musical game changer or culturally significant in any way, and it even lacked any semblance of an iconic visual element. Combine that with a 5 year wait and "Skyfall" having already stolen the "first new followup music" thunder from the next album 3 years prior and the writing is on the wall.

The annoying part will be seeing the entire media acting like it's a shock, and her stans acting like it's a conspiracy or whatever lame excuse.

From HitsDailyDouble:

LOOK OUT, HERE COMES ADELE

New Album, New Deal, New Fleet of TV Looks Set to Dominate Q4

The long-awaited return of XL/Columbia’s Adele is slated for 11/20, and is naturally expected to have a seismic impact on the remainder of the year. Expect the leadoff single to drop in the first or second week of November.

The forthcoming album is the last on Adele’s Sony/XL deal; insiders say she has already inked a new worldwide deal with Sony, said to be valued at more than $50 million.

The British superstar has inked a lockout deal with NBC for four big TV looks, including The Today Show, SNL, a dedicated special and one more appearance TBA (possibly Fallon). The exclusive deal will not, however, prevent Adele from appearing on the 2016 Grammys.

Adele’s 2011 set 21 has sold 11.1 million copies (13.5m+ with TEA) in the U.S. thus far, and more than 30m worldwide.

The Q4 blitz will involve a massive physical presence for the album—which could turn out to be the last smash to be closely associated with the compact disc—and will probably include a wall-to-wall Target campaign.

Adele’s camp continues to be hush-hush about which of the 23 tracks that had been considered for inclusion have made the final cut. Among those producers and co-writers on the project are Max Martin, Greg Kurstin, Paul Epworth, Dan Wilson, Ryan Tedder, Jeff Bhasker and Tobias Jesso Jr. Adele is said to be 100% in charge of and invested in all creative decision-making.
