There are a few snippy reviews that in my opinion are being really harsh simply because her last sold 30 million. If this was her debut or second album, it'd be getting glowing 4/5 and 5/5 reviews across the board.

ADELE EARLY RESPONSE: BEYOND BELIEF (UPDATE)
Regarding the first-day response to the new Adele album, 25, the term “feeding frenzy” doesn’t sufficiently describe what's happening here in the States—and presumably around the world.

Early sales are unlike anything we've seen in the modern era. The numbers are so extraordinary, we don’t have anything to properly benchmark them against. Digitally, 25 should sell over 1m, giving it the biggest-ever digital sales week. Physically, however, there haven’t been enough huge titles released since the new Friday street day for us to develop a model on which to base 25’s trend.

Could Walmart and Target combined sell north of a million? That would be nearly twice the 527k the two accounts sold collectively on Taylor Swift’s 1989, which went on to sell nearly 1.3m in its debut week. Amazon, which broke the preorder record earlier this week with 100k+, now must get them all shipped by Monday night in order to count for next week’s chart.

And what of Thanksgiving Day, the last day in 25’s first chart week? Will the holiday hurt the album’s momentum or help get it over the hump? With many retailers open on Thanksgiving evening, will that provide the last-minute surge to move 25 beyond the 2.4m first week record set by NSYNC in 2000 and possibly even hit 3m in its first week.

At this point, 2m+ is a lock. Can it hit 3m? Stay tuned.

although not a huge fan of her music - it's just that i find it a bit beige though quite warm every here and there - i'm actually enjoying 25 a lot more than 21 which i got sick of after a month or so. hello is pretty weak compared to some of the other album tracks. currently going back to million years ago and when we were young. is send my love the max martin produced song cause it definitely sounds like one of his babies

oh and all i ask is the 90s ballad the likes of mariah and celine would have dreamt recording back in the day.

I don't love her music or her voice (love HER, though). And am actually slightly baffled sitting here watching her "Graham Norton" special on catch up as just why she is so massive. But I'm baffled in a good way. Am actually bloody delighted someone like her has slayed the world.

"Hometime Glory" is the best song she ever wrote.

Oh, and "Million Years" is "The Phantom of the Opera" crossed with Janis Ian's "At 17".

I'm downloading the Vinyl Rip, each song is 100Mb, that's how I am a fan.
Let you know the results.

3. I Miss You. Girls, I remember you calling Madonna to alter her voice. This is how it's MDNA on choruses here. It THE BAD sound (on voice).
Not impressed even liked the production.
4. When Young. I see much unneeded production on the voice. She spits. No.. Boring song
5. Now I really GET what was people talking. Overscreaming the red lines. At 01:51 it starts at it's worse.
No, I'm on the sixth song and I'm done.

Her previous album was good and incredible in it's 50%.
Not sure I'm here to re-listen to this.
Her voice is so ALTERED, it's unbearable. So loud. Ears bleed whith the best possible sound I could get. It IS at least a very bad production. And usual songs.

No I heard River Lea. It's good. Kinda in the Like A Prayer League, but lost in the production, and I do think about the voice.
With this song she is an exceptional songwrighter. Not so much with the previous ones.

@River
When you listen to Remedy, it all about the mic volume and and it's over at 90% of the times.
Song is good.. But if you like to blame M for the same on MDNA or smth... The same over-powered vocals are here.
At least, except that.

Maybe it's my vinyl rip?.... Could be. No.
Actually shocked at how vinyls and cds sound so different.
Her voice is still very overpowered, so not natural, so all over the place. Hate it.

ADELE’S 25 IS ON FIRE: 1.9M SOLD IN JUST TWO DAYS IN THE US
BY TIM INGHAM

It’s fair to say this is going better than anyone dared expect.

Adele’s 25 sold a scarcely believable 1.9m copies in its first two days on sale in the US, according to early data from reliable local retail monitor BuzzAngle – and therefore obviously shifted more than 2m copies across the world in the same timeframe.

Sixty-two percent of these US sales (around 1.18m) were digital downloads, says BuzzAngle – after Adele and her Stateside label Columbia (Sony) notoriously decided not to put the album on streaming services such as Spotify.

Of the 38% of US sales (722,000) on physical formats, 98% were on CD, with 2% on vinyl.

25 shifted 900,000 copies on US iTunes alone in its first day on sale, according to Billboard.

What all of this means: it is now starting to look like a foregone conclusion that 25 will shatter the official all-time first week record for album sales in America.

That record – restricted to the Nielsen SoundScan era, which began in 1991 – is currently held by NSYNC, whose No Strings Attached sold 2,416,000 units during its opening week in March, 2000.

As for Adele’s 25, the extraordinary numbers don’t stop there.

It is currently No.1 on 106 of the 119 iTunes charts around the world, MBW understands.

The Adele At The BBC TV special, which aired on the UK’s BBC One on Friday night, officially drew in 4.54m viewers according to stats released today – an impressive 19.8% share of the audience.

As for 25’s UK sales, MBW revealed yesterday that it had shifted more than 300,000 in its opening 24 hours.

Although we don’t yet have confirmation of what happened on Saturday (November 21), the senior-level music biz execs we’ve spoken to are telling us that a 700k+ UK week one is on the cards.

Something like a phenomenon.

537,000 in the UK from Friday to Sunday. I really hope it breaks that Oasis record by Friday.

Yes, I would LOVE her to beat the Oasis record. Especially in this climate, that would be utterly amazing.

She has sold 2.3 million in the first three days in the US. The current record is N*SYNC's 2.4 million in a week and that was 15 years ago!

Jesus!
