Amazing! She is making history. This might never happen again. Ever.

True! It probably won't happen for a very, very long time if ever. And she's doing it in an era of declining physical sales, with no discounting or ticket bundles or gimmicks!

i love the fact she's smashing all records on pure sales alone and by not letting streaming points inflate her accomplishment (for those not knowing the album is not available on streaming services)

537,000 in the UK from Friday to Sunday. I really hope it breaks that Oasis record by Friday.
in all fairness oasis managed that record throughout just three days of sales (thursday to saturday), too.

Just the 20th album to sell 1 million in a week in the US. (There's some abysmal shit on this list lol.)

Adele's '25' Is the 20th Album to Sell a Million Copies in a Week: See the Full List
By Keith Caulfield | November 23, 2015 10:00 PM EST

With Adele’s 25 having already sold at least 2.3 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music, it has joined an elite club of albums that have sold a million copies in a single week.

Since Nielsen Music started tracking point of sale music purchases in 1991, Adele’s new album is only the 20th to sell at least a million copies in a single week. (And certainly, the sales figure for 25 will increase, as that 2.3 million total is only for the set’s first three days on sale. It still has another four days left in its initial tracking week, which ends on Nov. 26.)

The first album to manage the feat was the Whitney Houston-led The Bodyguard soundtrack, which powered through 1,061,000 copies in its sixth week of release (week ending Jan. 3, 1993). The first set to debut with a million copies sold in the Nielsen era was Garth Brooks’ Double Live (1,086,000 in the week ending Nov. 22, 1998).

Of the 20 million-selling weeks, all but three were registered during an album’s debut frame. In addition to The Bodyguard, The Beatles’ 1 also hit the million mark in its sixth week (ending Dec. 24, 2000). The third non-debuting million seller was Eminem’s The Eminem Show, which sold 1,322,000 million in its second chart week (ending June 2, 2002), following an early debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart (with 285,000) after its release was pushed up by four days to Friday, May 23 (giving the set just three days of sales for its No. 1 debut).

Here are the 20 albums (including 25) that have sold a million copies in a single week, starting with the latest entry, 25.

(Note: No one album has ever sold more than a million copies in more than one week, so this list can also be viewed as the 20 instances where an album sold a million copies period.)

Adele’s 25 has only been on sale for three days, but it’s already the top-selling album of 2015 in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music.

Adele's '25' Sells 2.3 Million in First Three Days in U.S., Aiming for 2.9 Million Debut Week

The album, which was released on Nov. 20 through XL/Columbia Records, sold at least 2.3 million copies through Nov. 22. That instantly makes it the year’s best-seller, surpassing with 1.76 million sold by Taylor Swift’s 1989. (Swift’s set, released in 2014, has sold 5.42 million in total.)

It’s a safe bet to assume that 25 will finish 2015 as the year’s top seller. Adele’s previous album, 21, was the best-selling album of both 2012 and 2011 in the U.S. In 2012, it shifted 4.42 million copies, and in 2011, it moved 5.82 million.

25 was led by the single "Hello," which has spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. With 2.55 million downloads sold, it is the year's eighth-largest-selling song.

696,000 in the first week.

Unless Adele's sales nosedive for the remaining three days, she has the new record!

681k as of yesterday, so she has today and tomorrow to sell over 15k and beat the record. It's in the bag!

Nice. Off topic, but am I the only one who finds Oasis to be mindbogglingly overrated?

25 HEADING DUE NORTH FROM 3M

Another day, another updated Adele projection. As of Wednesday morning, our numbers crunchers have increased first-week estimates for 25 to 3.1-3.3m albums, 3.2-3.4m SPS. This is surreal. Meanwhile, she’s performing “Million Years Ago” on The Today Show as this item is being typed.
