being proud of fatness is on the same level of being proud of stupidity
and so many talented people were on the cover of Vogue, who does she think she is...
bitch come on. she's just proud of the way she is. she gives a fuck about ideals like Beth Ditto. more power to them I say
Why is it ok for Adele to slag off Nicole Scherzinger for being "skinny"? Imagine if Scherzinger took a potshot at Adele for being fat. All hell would break loose.

I have nothing against people being fat, but I hate it when fat people get all bolshy about it. It's not healthy to be fat. FACT.
of course she shouldn't slag her off but honestly... do you think Scherzinger got to where she is today (or isn't depending on how realistic you are  ) because of looks or talent? (it was Nicole Richie btw but potato potato)
Nicole Flopzinger has a very good voice.

Literally, people are not supposed to be fat. It's not in our biology. People are only fat because of the unhealthy food we've created.
this is not wholly true. it's true that the majority of fat people today are so because there is a surplus of food, but actually back in the days those who had a better chance of survival were those who were able to put on weight. you know, famine and the sorts

Of course looks played a MAJOR part in Scherzinger's success, but she *can* sing too. I just don't think Adele does her any favours by slagging off another artist like that.

Nor do I ever, *EVER* believe anyone who claims that they'd rather be fat than slim. And if they do think that, then they aren't right in the head.

some people choose just to not give a shit about ideals. the only fat people who piss me off are the ones who whine about it

if Adele likes weighing a bit more than some BMI scale says she should then fine with me

That's partly true alright. Our bodies are actually designed to store as much fat as possible as a survival mechanism. In many ways, bodies that store fat quicker are just doing what nature intended.

That's still no excuse for being fat though. It's obviously not healthy to be overweight. Again, that's completely up to the individual, but they shouldn't go around shouting about it.

But you and Adele are looking at it from the point of "looks". What about the health aspects? Not giving a shit about health is a rather serious issue I think, and a MASSIVE problem in many societies. Of course she shouldn't give a shit about *looking* good, but what about her own health?

Anyway, I completely and utterly agree that it's ENTIRELY up to herself what she does with her own body. My only complaint is that she has chosen to insult another person in her own defense. That's just mean.

but this has ZERO to do with her MUSIC.

are you basing you music preferences on an artist's personal beliefs?
I wasn't talking about her music...
well, you said "I sorta liked her until I saw this" so i assumed you were. my bad.

No you're right she shouldn't be having a go at other people but what I mean is it doesn't bother me that she is overweight. Roy Orbison was an ugly bastard but he sang like an angel :D

Oh in no way does her weight bother me in the slightest! Not even *remotely*. I couldn't care less what she looked like! I'm all about the music. :)

I would be lying if I said that looks -or at least looks combined with image - wasn't a big part of the package for me when it comes to the artists that I love the most but there are a million bajillion artists where their looks or personality has no bearing on me liking their music.. Adele is one of those for me :D

I agree. I love the fact she isn't going to a fat farm to look like an anorexic model like Jennifer Hudson among others have in the past. Hollywood has an obsession with starving yourself, and I think that being UNDERWEIGHT is just as bad as being overweight. You've never seen directors telling a 79 lb actress to indulge in a cheeseburger then come back the next day, but if an actress (since usually its women who suffer more than men) is even 1 lb over what they are aiming for, she better starve herself. Nicole Richie deserves the insult Adele gave her. Nicole was once a "healthy" looking girl, but then a few people made comments about her being "fat" and then she turned into the living embodiment of Skeletor. She changed her image to please the media and instead turned into a grotesque example of the dangers of anorexia.

The media couldn't handle Nicole looking like this:

Then she followed the media's advice and turned into this:
Posted Image

Sorry, but the "fat" Nicole looked far healthier and realistic than the 65 lb skin and bone anorexic Nicole from the second pic.

Adele claims first US number one single

Adele has scored her first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with 'Rolling in the Deep'.

The track, from the singer's sophomore album 21, advances from two to one after a total of 18 weeks on the tally.

Her chart gain sees last week's frontrunner Katy Perry slip to two with 'E.T.', while Jennifer Lopez's 'On The Floor' completes the top three.

Elsewhere in the top ten, Lady Antebellum debut at seven with 'Just A Kiss', and Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Afrojack's 'Give Me Everything' jumps from 13 to eight.

Further down the chart, David Guetta lands at 14 with 'Where Them Girls At?', and Kelly Rowland's 'Motivation' reaches a new peak, leaping from 43 to 31.

Martin Solveig and Dragonette's 'Hello' vaults 76 to 62, and Jennifer Lopez's 'I'm Into You' enters at 72.

The top ten singles in full (click where possible for our reviews):

1. (2) Adele: 'Rolling In The Deep'
2. (1) Katy Perry ft. Kanye West: 'E.T.'
3. (7) Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull: 'On The Floor'
4. (4) Black Eyed Peas: 'Just Can't Get Enough'
5. (5) Bruno Mars: 'The Lazy Song'
6. (3) Britney Spears: 'Till The World Ends'
7. (*) Lady Antebellum: 'Just A Kiss'
8. (13) Pitbull ft. Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer: 'Give Me Everything'
9. (6) Rihanna ft. Britney Spears: 'S&M'
10. (10) Chris Brown ft. Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes: 'Look At Me Now'

BTW, I hope I didn't sound like I was just saying that being obese is a good thing. But I do think there's a difference between losing weight because YOU want to be healthier (like what has happened with Aretha lately, who looked like Jabba for the past 20 years and has lost nearly 100 lbs and looks much better), and losing weight because you're a celebrity and Hollywood is telling you that because you like to eat that you're a disgusting obese slob and doing it to "please" the media so they'll think you're more attractive like Nicole Ritchie, Jennifer Hudson, Karen Carpenter, etc... I don't see what's wrong with Adele looking in the mirror and not wanting to stick two fingers down her throat.

To be honest, bashing fat people is the most accepted form of discrimination because they can change... but why should they have to change just to please YOU? If they want to lose weight, do it for themselves. I've lost about 30 lbs in the past two years, but I did it for me, the guys who wouldn't give me the time of day back then can go and fuck themselves as far as I care, they didn't want me at that weight, they don't deserve me at this one.

The problem is that she looks like ten other r&b divas her age. In her curvy Dreamgirls/Sex And The City days, she stood out from a crowd, she looked like her own diva self. Of course, who wants to look like Effie White when you're co-star is Beyonce?
