Yeah - she looks totally bland now - nothing interesting about her. I also think Adele has a body type that is more 'the norm' for most women. I hope she doesn't do the whole dramatic weight loss thing over the next few years. The pressure must be enormous on her. People obsessing over her weight. Good on her for telling them to ***K off. I think Nicole Richie's public slide into anorexia was disturbing especially as in some magazines she was cheered on and complimented on how great she looked. |

US radio is annoying me, they always do this stale thing when a song takes off by an artist who isn't a proven "superstar" (people like Gaga, Rihanna, Katy, etc... can follow up a new hit every 2-3 months and radio will move on), they're STILL on RITD when she's moved on to single #3. They haven't even begun to play Someone Like You. This is just like what they did to Cee-Lo and Lady Antebellum (who released their FOURTH single to country radio off that album while pop was still harping on "Need You Now"). RITD is a decent song, but it's an album full of potential hits, don't just burn one song out. |

Adele tax bill made her want to 'buy a gun and open fire' Adele has revealed that she's been handing over millions to the UK taxman. The 'Rolling in the Deep' singer said that she is "mortified" that she has had to pay so much money when she doesn't think it goes to good use. She told Q: "I use the NHS, I can't use public transport anymore, doing what I do. I went to state school, I'm mortified to have to pay 50%. "Trains are always late, most state schools are s**t and I've gotta give you, like, four million quid? Are you having a laugh?" The star explained that she got a shock when she received her tax bill after her first album 19. She added: "When I got my tax bill in from 19 I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire." http://www.digitalspy.com/celebrity/news/a321419/adele-tax-bill-made-her-want-to-buy-a-gun-and-open-fire.html |

I hate rich people that don't want to pay their taxes. Even with the higher rate they still have more money left than most other people could ever dream of. |

I agree. Whinging about having to pay a huge tax bill, even though she'll still end up with more money than most people could ever dream of. Ugh. |

Among celebrities Joan Rivers is the worst with this mentality. She's quoted as saying she'll vote for *anyone* as long as they'll lower her taxes. And then of course there's people like Wesley Snipes that just don't file, and then get caught of course. (He's now in jail for tax evasion. He didn't file at all for several years, encompassing the release of the 'Blade' films, and owed the IRS $11 million after being audited.) |

Looks like the backlash has begun! ![]() From The Guardian: Adele's tax grievances won't resonate with fans The singer claims she wanted to 'buy a gun and randomly open fire' when she saw her recent tax bill – but her gripes are as tired as the most moat-friendly Tory grandee Tax needn't be taxing, the advert simpers, and while that might be true, coughing up your hard-earned will never be anything less than grievously unpleasant. Yet hearing Adele complain about being taxed on the great tidal wave of cash generated by her multi-million selling albums, it's hard to feel much sympathy. Speaking to Q magazine, the Rolling in the Deep singer said, "I'm mortified to have to pay 50%! [While] I use the NHS, I can't use public transport any more. Trains are always late, most state schools are shit, and I've gotta give you, like, four million quid – are you having a laugh? When I got my tax bill in from [the album] 19, I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire." Now, I love Adele. But that doesn't exactly endear you to her, does it? Let's look at it again. "I'm mortified to have to pay 50%!" The Beatles had to pay 95% - as did all the highest earners under two successive governments (Wilson and Heath) in the mid-60s. George Harrison wrote a song about it, can't remember what it's called, sorry. "I use the NHS." Keep paying your taxes then or it'll be gone. "I can't use public transport any more." The rest of us plebs still have to. Adele, however, will never be short of the sponds for a private car to Shoreditch House from now until the end of time. "Trains are always late." What does that matter when you don't use them? And they're not anyway. "Most state schools are shit." Actually, according to the most recent Ofsted report for the UK, "Just over two thirds of schools at their most recent inspection were providing a good or better education for their pupils. Pupils' behaviour was good or outstanding in 86% of schools." Of course, if rich people stop paying their taxes then they will become shit. "When I got my tax bill in, I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire." Now, you have to assume this was a joke rather than the first bitter taste of a full-blown psychotic episode, but it's still upsetting to hear this musician I admire seems as greedy as the most moat-friendly, port-stained Tory grandee. |

Adele is actually costing the British public extra tax dollars by being so fucking fat (NHS). Of course she doesn't ride public transportation. She too fat to get the fuck on it! |

Adele: 'Third album includes INXS cover' Adele has revealed that she is readying her third album for release next May. The 'Someone Like You' star told The Sun that she is planning to include a cover of INXS's 'Never Tear Us Apart' on the LP. "I have five tracks ready to go," Adele revealed. "One of them is quite upbeat - a real 'girl power' type of song." The 22-year-old's long UK album chart reign was recently brought to an end by Lady GaGa, who scored the biggest first-week sales of the year. Teasing the new collection, she continued: "I plan to do a cover of the INXS hit 'Never Tear Us Apart' which is probably my fave song of all time. The whole album will have quite a live feel to it." Adele was recently praised by XL Recordings founder Richard Russell for refraining from the "selling of sexuality" in order to achieve chart success with her "really good music". |

She's risking over exposure and diminishing returns by rush releasing another album barely one year after the current release. |

Adele's 'Someone Like You' becomes first single of decade to sell 1 million copies Adele's 'Someone Like You' has become the first song to sell more than a million copies in the UK this decade, the Official Charts Company has revealed. The track spent four weeks at number one in February before returning to the top of the chart for another week in March. The song's popularity surged after the singer-songwriter's performance at the Brit Awards in February this year. Since 2000, only 16 singles have reached the million sales mark. The last singles to reach this were Lady GaGa's 'Poker Face' and 'I Gotta Feeling' by the Black Eyed Peas, both released in 2009. Adele's latest album 21 has spent 16 weeks at the top of the Official Albums Chart. It has so far sold 2.6 million copies. Her first album, 19, has also doubled its sales this year, selling 800,000 copies. Official Charts Company managing director Martin Talbot said: "With an almost certain Mercury Music Prize nomination and 21's first Christmas season to come, I suspect her record-breaking antics are not over yet." |

I can see the idea of striking while the iron is hot, but I don't think it'd be smart to put a new cd out that soon. There's always the risk of overexposure and people will turn on her |
