I am DISGUSTED that Riverwide actually gave this juvenile piece of drivel the time of day. It's worst offence is that it's completely uncatchy. What the hell were they thinking? Clearly Bonnie McKee is trying to sabotage Katy to promote her vastly superior song.

I finally found it, still listening. Nice, easy, very good for what it is. Smash.

Verses are the bad here, but the chorus (double-triple one) is very well done.

And GSR, if man likes Fellini very much there's no argue he can't enjoy Pretty Woman.

I'm not at all saying this is bad because of some prejudice against Katy Perry being low brow or whatever. It's just a boring pop song.

It's thebest from Katy in my book for sure, it's kind of Kelly Clarcson's song that she never achieved still. I mean the bridge and chorus, they are incredibly good.

It sounds so flat and uneventful to me. It's a snooze.

So much for burning “Baby Blue.” Now I'm convinced she has NOT left the crappy Teenage Dream style behind.

Katy Perry's 'Roar' Arrives Early

The tune, the first single from her forthcoming third studio album "Prism" (due Oct. 22), was slated to premiere on Monday, Aug. 12. However, in the early morning of Aug. 10, the song leaked to the Internet.

In turn, "Roar" has now officially been serviced to radio stations and will likely reach the iTunes Store later today, or by Sunday, Aug. 11. The song will be aired hourly on participating Clear Channel radio stations, like a number of recent major single releases (ranging from Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey and Adele).

has the blurred lines frenzy slowed down a bit in america? if not, i can't see either katy or gaga having a number one lead single. they do have a better chance at shooting up to the uk top spot, though.

i beg to differ. both gaga and katy are set for huge opening weeks sales wise. however, airplay for blurred lines is still dazzling. not ever show stopping performances at the vmas can change that.

Itty Bitty Piggy's review on Popjustice is spot-on:

"The song is an aural equivalent of 'butterface'.

The chorus obviously being the banging trophy of a body (that will be all that matters after a few drinks), but the dead weight of no middle-eight and so-so verses is what you're looking at the majority of the time and you're just left thinking "this could be so much better with more time and love spent on it".

From Billboard.com

There's little doubt that "Roar" will roar onto the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart this Wednesday (Aug. 14), when the new weekly chart is compiled. Even if the song hadn't gone on sale until Monday as planned, the track would have probably bowed high on the chart based solely off of airplay. (The Hot 100's airplay week runs from Wednesday through Tuesday of each week, while its sales week runs from Monday through Sunday.)

It's difficult to predict just how high the song will bow, considering that it will have a partial week's worth of sales fueling its arrival. Based on Perry's track history at radio and retail, "Roar" should storm into the upper reaches of the chart -- if not this week, then certainly next.

The last time Perry was previewing a new album with its lead single was in 2010, when "California Gurls" ushered in her "Teenage Dream" set. "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and shot to No. 1 in its fourth week. Its start was powered by first-week sales of 294,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
