"Elastic Love" is so f*cking good. That's exactly the sort of track I thought this album would be full of when she was blathering on about experimentation and working with hip producers.
just listened to it, sounds like it's the Santigold collab... ?
It does sound very Santigold alright!

I'm already warming to this album. Sure, there's some shizz on it, but as expected it's also littered with cool songs too.

I heard the Santigold-similarities too on that song.

Ok, I've listened to the album numerous times at this stage...

01. Bionic 7/10
02. Not Myself Tonight 8/10
03. Woohoo 5/10
04. Elastic Love 7/10
05. Desnudate 5/10
07. Glam 3/10
08. Prima Donna 5/10
10. Sex For Breakfast 2/10
11. Lift Me Up 7/10
13. All I Need 8/10
14. I Am 5/10
15. You Lost Me 7/10
16. I Hate Boys 2/10
17. My Girls 2/10
18. Vanity 1/10

It's actually really, really poor. I can't get over how many genuinely *shit* songs there are on it. I mean *staggeringly* bad. It's almost completely devoid of decent melodies or lyrics. Definitely one of the worst albums by a major diva I've heard in a long, long time.

They are ASTONISHINGLY bad songs. I mean, Ke$ha wouldn't piss on this stuff, yet Miss Aguilera records them and deems them worthy of her album? WTF?

Aguilera confirms Madonna video tribute

Christina Aguilera has confirmed that her latest video features several deliberate references to Madonna.

The singer, who took to the stage with Madonna and Britney Spears for a notorious performance at the 2003 VMAs, used her 'Not Myself Tonight' clip to salute the pop queen's legacy.

"One of my favourite videos ever is 'Express Yourself' by Madonna which came across as really strong and empowering which I always try to incorporate through my expression of sexuality," Aguilera said.

"I love the direct reference I made to Madonna with the eye glass moment and the smoke and stairs. I was paying tribute to a very strong woman who has paved the way before."

'Not Myself Tonight', the lead single from Aguilera's upcoming album Bionic, is available to download now.

I think all the ballads are beautiful. Particularly "You Love me" and "I am" which she doesn't once go into usual Christina powerhouse, just nice and subtle. Ive yet to gel with any of the uptempo tracks. As most say some are pretty awful "Sex for Breakfast" being one of them! (Gross!)

Then again Christina does ballads very well.

Have these pop tarts learned *nothing* from the demise of Janet Jackson's career? People are VERY turned off when female singers insist on singing graphically about their sexploits.

Hearing about Xtina's wet clunge and Tranet's clit-piercing being sucked?

most of the tracks i cannot listen to from start to finish. now i understand why the record company went for not my hit tonight as the first single, it's not like they had a choice.

elastic love is the strongest upbeat track, i guess it's what we'd have hoped for the rest of this album to sound like.

there could have been a triptych of strong ballads on the album - i am, you lost me and lift me up- only the lame, generic production burries them to oblivion. lift me up could have been a majestic ballad, equivalent to hurt if not better. it only needed a piano and some basic strings, but then they had to ruin it by turning to a dated late90s/early00s snoozefest. it sounded just perfect on the haiti telethon but then somebody had to switch it. WELL DONE

Agreed! All of a sudden, Not Myself Tonight leaps out as being one of the only logical single choices available to them.

The production on "Lift Me Up" is SO naff. :lol2:

Yep. It actually sounds like one of those dodgy early 90s remixes that record companies used to commission for sparse acoustic piano ballads in an attempt to have them played on radio.

It's tragic to think that in 2010 this is what a 29 year old pop star thinks is cutting edge music.
