Shania Twain is revealing her first new song in almost six years! A video has surfaced featuring the country megastar rehearsing her new tune, 'Today Is Your Day,' marking the first performance footage of Shania in more than five years. "I wrote this song in real time as the series developed," the songbird tells Perez Hilton, referring to her 'Why Not? With Shania Twain' television show. "I'm mixing the record now, and by the end of the series the song should be released. I'm so excited! I can't believe it!" Shania's reality/documentary series airs Sundays at 10:00 PM ET on Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network. The series finale is June 12, so if her prediction is correct, that will also be the day that 'Today Is Your Day' hits country radio! In addition to promoting the show, the singer is also on a whirlwind media tour in support of her new autobiography, 'From This Moment On,' which was released May 3. The book chronicles Shania's struggles from humble beginnings to becoming a pop culture phenomenon with over 75 million records sold. It also tells the heartbreaking story of her now ex-husband's alleged infidelity, which ironically -- and downright magically -- ended with her finding love with the other jilted party in the affair, Frédéric Thiébaud, to whom she is now married. |

Her music career ended when she divorced her husband. She's a national joke now. |

Of course, *he* wrote all her music for her. "Vanity credits" aren't legitimate. |

I have a soft spot for her and her voice. I loved a lot of stuff on the 'Up!' album.

It's pretty sad that she's resorted to reality television. She was once the hottest star in all of music, and now she's in the land of Bret Michaels, Flavor Flav and Chilli? Even Christina hasn't resorted to THAT yet... |

ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network The single will be exclusively available on iTunes immediately following the world premiere. Marks First New Single From The Music Superstar In Six Years Los Angeles, CA - OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network viewers will experience the world premiere of the first new single in six years from country/pop superstar Shania Twain during the finale episode of "Why Not? with Shania Twain" airing Sunday, June 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. "Today Is Your Day" will be exclusively available on iTunes immediately following the world premiere on OWN starting Sunday, June 12 at 11 p.m. ET/PT. Mercury Nashville will service the song to country radio stations after the show's airing. "Today Is Your Day" is the first song Twain has written solo in six years, and the creation process for the single was documented throughout the docu-series "Why Not? with Shania Twain" currently airing Sundays on OWN. Twain is seen as she works through the lyrics, meets with vocal doctors and a grief counselor and embarks on unexpected adventures throughout North America that test her courage and self-confidence in an effort to reclaim her life. In an all new episode titled "Finding My Voice" airing this Sunday, June 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, Twain has a one-on-one vocal training session with legendary vocal coach Eric Vetro before meeting with famed music producer David Foster to discuss producing her new single "Today is Your Day." Twain then reaches the end of her tour on Sunday, June 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT in the finale episode titled "Endless Love," as she marries Frederic Thiebaud and shares never-before-seen wedding footage from the Bahamas. As Twain faces her final challenge, recording a duet of "Endless Love" with superstar Lionel Richie, she reflects on the journey that has brought her to this point in her life. |

while never a fan of hers, i've always enjoyed some of her tacky, yet incredibly catchy country-pop numbers. also, can anyone argue she has one of the most distinctive, instantly recognizable voices? this is a charisma, however u put it. she may not be able to sell the massive figures she once did, but there's surely still an audience for her out there. |

Yeah, I've always thought she has a really lovely voice. Her songs were often very strong and catchy too. I think it remains to be seen how she'll fare saleswise. Nobody is going to sell 10 million copies of an album in the US anymore, so she should just relax and record what she wants to. It'll be interesting to see how she does without her ex husband overseeing her music though. I hope she pulls it off! She seems like a nice lady. |

Shania Twain annouces 'Still the One,' a two-year residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas For Shania Twain, the road back to musical relevance has been long and arduous one, as we’ve recently seen in the country superstar’s painful story of betrayal — and its aftermath – told in detail on Oprah; in a shocking tell-all book, From This Moment On; and on her OWN reality show Why Not? But now, it seems, Shania is ready for a full-on musical comeback: She announced today in a press conference that she’ll headline her own Celine Dion-style show, Shania: Still the One, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, opening Dec. 1, 2012. Expect “all of her biggest hits,” according to the just-launched website for the show, where you can buy tickets for the two-year residency beginning June 19. “I will let my imagination run wild,” she said at the press conference announcing the show. “I’m going to go nuts creatively.” And she shed light on how her journey since her divorce and remarriage has helped her get to this point where she can perform again. “It’s been a healing year,” Twain said. “I’ve learned how to commit myself and put that into healing, instead of fear and anxiety, which is a big turnaround.” Twain also recently announced that she’ll premiere her new song in six years, “Today Is Your Day,” on the season finale of her OWN show, Why Not?, this Sunday, June 12. |
