It's the only one of his albums that I love every song on - most are a combination of sons I adore and songs I never listen to..

Listening to the Take The Crown.

Snippets were a bit misleading, as always. This time the songs are better than snippets :alexz:

'Different' is good, just misses an adequate climax. It's not even close to second coming :) but it could be the best single if being on Take That album, surely.
And if you put this album against 'Progress', which is a fare comparison, it's on par.
I'm on the second listen now.

P.S. who produced Shit On The Radio????? It's better than M's TUTR, but uses the same chorus (words and notes). And he uses one small identical musical phrase from his Candy ('i know that you know..') ..maybe it's on purpose... But rather not.

I finally got a chance to listen to it this morning - I really like it. It's low-key but not uninteresting I think. I definitely prefer it to Reality Killed The Radio Star which had a couple of songs I really like but quite a few that I literally cannot listen too.

i still think it's possibly the most disappointing pop album this year.

I love it! It sounded so bland and underwhelming for the first few listens, but these are quality songs. "Candy" was a massively misleading single though. Most of the other songs are pretty serious and not at all "perky". It's often *very* U2 in sound, then I realised why...Jackknife Lee is the producer!

His best album in years for me.

The video for "Different". Not sure what they were going for, but it doesn't really work for me. Very dull. I do really like the song though.

I rather like it. Weirdly in the colour close ups he kind of reminds me of latter-day Morrissey...

Robbie Williams defends 'Rudebox', contemplating sequel

Robbie Williams has defended his 2006 album Rudebox, saying that he might record some form of sequel.

The 'Candy' singer's experimental electro-inspired LP received poor reviews upon release, but still managed to top the album chart and spawned the hits 'Rudebox', 'Lovelight' and 'She's Madonna'.

However, Williams has said apart from a couple of tracks, he "stands by" the record, and would preferably perform more songs from the LP on tour if possible.

"I love Rudebox, by the way, and plans are afoot to make another one," he wrote in a blog post.

"It'll be ages yet, but I think it's time to do the second instalment. In many ways, Rudebox is my favourite album of mine.

"But also it's the album I would take the most tracks off too. 'Louise' wasn't a very good cover, 'Kiss Me' can go too. That version of 'Summertime' wasn't the best and 'Keep On' can be dropped.

"The rest I stand by with a big middle finger going 'No, f**k you'."

He continued: "I know I've said in concert about some of my songs not being the best. It's panto. For the record I f**king love 'Bodies' and I love 'Rudebox'.

"If it wasn't for the perception, it would be first on my setlist. It's so much fun for me to perform. So would 'The 90's' and 'The 80's'."

Williams added that he intends to switch to an arena tour after his upcoming stadium tour in order to perform more songs rather than just the hits.

"After this stadium tour I'm going to move back to arenas. I loved The O2 last year, and I think I could fanny about my with my choice of tunes in arenas.

"In stadiums you 'have to' hit it down the middle. It's too scary not to. Imagine how terrifying it would be to lose a whole stadium as I kick into [quoting 'D**khead'] 'Why d'you mug me off in my car, d**khead?'."

Robbie Williams was recently rumoured to be planning a second big band album following 2001's Swing When You're Winning.

He will launch his Take the Crown stadium tour on June 18, with Olly Murs as his support act.

This is either utter dogshit or genius.

I've yet to decide, but I'm still humming it.

I like it! It's a bit Rudebox-y, which is a good thing in my book!

Its very Calvin Harris several years ago, love it.
but I'm certainly rap-ist. Rap just ruins what could probably be a song

a sequel to swing when you're winning? no, thank you - no doubt it'll be big over the christmas season, though
