12. Run the World (Girls) 8/10
OMG didn't you go on and on about how awful it was and how it had no melody and deserved to flop? I think the surprise at this point would be to stay FIRM on a decision.

In all seriousness though, I do change my mind a lot about music, but isn't that how music so often is? I actually find it a shame when people listen to something once, dismiss it and never listen to it again. Very often music can grow on you. Well that's how it is for me many times anyway!

wow... that's a beyonce-sized backtracking "spin" if ever I've heard one!

j/k I'm the same way. I often go back and give stuff I've hated a second chance and find I like it on further listening

Hehe. Yeah, it doesn't always happen, but sometimes it does.

Anyway, I still don't think the Bee album is great. I think it's just ok, but not as bad as I thought it was on first couple of listens.

oh, as if the leakage wasn't intentional. her label are already on damage control pilot and most definitely in the hunt for some singles to be included in the special edition coming up later this year. she'll just relaunch the album in autumn and pretend this whole mess never happened.

in all honesty, the album's quite a grower, athough far from the rnb gay massacre everyone expected it to be.

Beyonce has been invited to join the Oscar Academy

Beverly Hills, CA – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 178 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. Those who accept the invitation will be the only additions in 2011 to the Academy’s roster of members.
“These individuals are among the best filmmakers working in the industry today,” said Academy President Tom Sherak. “Their talent and creativity have entertained moviegoers around the world, and I welcome each of them to our ranks.”
The Academy’s membership policies would have allowed a maximum of 211 new members in 2011, but as in other recent years, several branch committees endorsed fewer candidates than were proposed to them. Voting membership in the organization has now held steady at just under 6,000 members since 2003.

In an unprecedented gesture, the list of new members includes documentary filmmaker Tim Hetherington, who was killed in action in Libya in April. Hetherington had been a 2010 nominee for his film “Restrepo,” but died prior to the Academy’s spring meetings to select new members. The Documentary Branch proposed that Hetherington’s name be included among the year’s invitees. The governors agreed.

The 2011 invitees are:

Actors
Russell Brand – “Arthur,” “Get Him to the Greek”
Gerard Butler – “The Ugly Truth,” “300”
Vincent Cassel – “Black Swan,” “Eastern Promises”
Robbie Coltrane – “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1,” “Mona Lisa”

John Hawkes – “Winter’s Bone,” “The Perfect Storm”
Thomas Jane – “The Mist,” “The Thin Red Line”

Beyonce Knowles – “Dreamgirls,” “Austin Powers in Goldmember”
Mila Kunis – “Black Swan,” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”

It's no wonder the Academy makes some rather dubious choices for Best Picture (nominees AND winners) when you look at who is part of the organization.

Beyoncé covers Queen, Kings of Leon at Glastonbury warmup gig

Beyoncé performed songs by Queen and Kings of Leon as part of a medley during a warmup gig in France.

The 29-year-old singer, who is currently preparing for her headline slot at this weekend's Glastonbury festival, also played a Prince classic and her breakdown verse in Lady GaGa's 'Telephone'.

The concert, which was held at the Palais Nikaia in Nice, included a medley which featured Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody', Prince's 'The Beautiful Ones' and King of Leon's 'Sex On Fire'.

The 'Run The World (Girls)' star is reportedly nervous about her set at the music festival on Sunday, which is set to include "dizzying pyrotechnics" and cameos from Jay-Z and Kanye West.

Beyoncé will release her fourth studio album 4 on June 27 in the UK and June 28 in the US.
