Any word from Madonna or GaGa on Amy's death?

Amy said some nasty things about Madge so she may feel uncomfortable commenting on her death.

But then again, if Debbie Reynolds was able to give a diplomatic comment on Elizabeth Taylor's passing Madonna could sure as hell easily say something nice here.

I'm listening to Back to Black now. So so sad :( :( A true talent.
I know. It's a stunning album. It was a genuine *instant classic*. I remember downloading it before it was released and loving it. I had hated her before that, but even I had to admit how incredible the new stuff was.

UK iTunes
1. Back To Black
3. Frank & Back To Black
4. Back To Black (Deluxe)
6. Frank

US iTunes
1. Back To Black
4. Frank
7. Back To Black

:drama:
Yes! The title track is so beautiful!!

Meanwhile, Back to Black is iTunes #1 in:

Yeah, didn't she say that she listened to TIC everyday when she was 13 or something?

There were also comments about how M needs to sit down in front of a band since she's too old to be a pop star/performer or some shit like that.

In fairness, Amy said a LOT of stuff when she was off her face, which was 95% of the time. When she was sober, she was a very sweet girl. Madonna has had FAR worse said about her anyway. I doubt there are any hard feelings.

Amy changed pop music forever, I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues.

Amy Winehouse's unfinished third album may be given a posthumous release.

Winehouse had been working on the record, the follow-up to 2006's Back to Black, sporadically up until her death on Saturday at the age of 27. The new tracks recorded for the album are said to be mostly in demo format, but there is "a lot of material", The Daily Telegraph reports.

Phil Alexander, editor-in-chief of Mojo magazine, said: "It is inevitable that her death will elevate her reputation and that there will be a third record released.

"It's difficult to place her in the pantheon of greats now because the truth is that her career was still in its early days. That's the tragedy of the situation. She was a wonderful writer. The thing that's very sad about this is that there was so much more to come."

Adam Liversage of the British Phonographic Industry also commented: "You might argue that Amy Winehouse was already in the pantheon of greats. Her songs have become standards.

"Already there has been a lot of anticipation for a new album and if it was released posthumously that will only increase the interest in her."

Winehouse's parents Mitch and Janis will reportedly have the final say over whether any new material will be released.

Back to Black has currently racked up sales of over 2.95 million in the UK and 2.3 million in the US, and has risen to number 59 in the UK albums chart after news of the singer's passing broke this weekend.

No drugs or drug paraphernalia were found on her person, in her room, in her house, or on the property at all.

Yeah I'm hearing a few reports that it wasn't an overdose, but a seizure. Her nervous system and organs were so severely damaged that she was having seizures. One of them may have killed her.

Amy Winehouse update: Autopsy results deemed inconclusive

According to police officials in London, the autopsy performed on late singer Amy Winehouse (who passed away Saturday at the age of 27) returned inconclusive results, and no cause of death has yet been established.

They are now awaiting the results of toxicology tests, the results of which should be back in two to four weeks. Since police have determined there was no foul play involved in Winehouse’s death, her body was released to her family shortly after the conclusion of the autopsy. Her parents are reportedly planning on a private family memorial for her as soon as possible, perhaps as early as tomorrow.

Fans continue to gather at the makeshift memorial set up for Winehouse across the street from the home where the Grammy-winning singer lived. Her father, Mitch Winehouse, addressed the crowd and thanked them for their outpouring of support. “Amy was about one thing and that was love,” he told the group. “Her whole life was devoted to her family and her friends and to you guys as well. I can’t tell you what this means to us. It really is making this a lot easier for us.”

Posthumous releases make me uncomfortable :/

It's different when it's the explicit wish of the performer (like Freddie Mercury) but otherwise I'm not sure how I feel about it..

I'm *aching* for more material, but only if it's of sufficiently high quality, otherwise I'd rather not get ANY release at all. Unless the album was near completion, I don't want them to release a thing.

It's just a shame that she has so little recorded material in her catalogue. I also think the first album is pretty dire, so it's really only Back To Black and a few bits and pieces that I love listening to.

And the loons have come out in full force.

Some motherfucker over on Pulse is going on about how people are "acting like they're aunt died" and saying that she's now being overrated as her musical impact pre-death was no bigger than Aaliyah's.

:manson:
They're right. She had no impact. She sampled, and put on a fake Motown black woman singing voice. Move on. Geez.
