And the loons have come out in full force.

Some motherfucker over on Pulse is going on about how people are "acting like they're aunt died" and saying that she's now being overrated as her musical impact pre-death was no bigger than Aaliyah's.

:manson:
They're right. She had no impact. She sampled, and put on a fake Motown black woman singing voice. Move on. Geez.
Even by your standards, that is beyond dumb.

I'd like TickTock to know that Billboard confirmed yesterday that BTB was selling over *1,000* copies a week in the US before her death. That's despite it being released over 4 years ago here, the fact that it only spawned one radio hit here, and the fact that she released no more albums after BTB.

EVERY other notable female recording act of the last 10 years, with the sole exception being Norah Jones and 'Come Away With Me,' has failed to have an album hold up like that and make that level of impact. Madonna, Britney, Beyonce, etc. None of them. Pink's 'I'm Not Dead,' Kelly's 'Breakaway,' and Carrie's 'Some Hearts' were still selling about 1,000 copies a week a few years after their release, but those also all spawned several radio smashes here in the US.

It's not dumb. It's 100% true, and anyone living in the US would tell you the same thing. Europeans have no idea that what this girl did was completely and totally unoriginal, and are acting like she offered something new. The same goes for Duffy. Two American rip-offs. They will not be remembered 50 years from now. Perhaps chavs will remember, but everyone else will say, "Amy who?"

It was a big album, especially with fraus. What's your point??

Look at Adele. She'll be a flash in the pan in the end. These are Adult Contemporary artists. Of course they sell. That doesn't make Amy a legend, or some icon.

Get back to us once you've finally stepped away from the computer and get some much needed fresh air, which will give your brain some oxygen.

That doesn't even make sense. I'm an openly gay man, married to an openly gay man.

And I'd rather be who I am than you - an angry militant gay who clearly has a lot of real-world issues which is why they attack anything and everything in a virtual world as they don't have the balls to do it in the real one.

Now how about you respond to the rest of the post? The comparisons I gave disprove everything you just said.

Amy was an Adult Contemporary act? In what alternate universe? Celine Dion is an AC act, not Amy.

Considering how big a lot of Motown music was in the UK I'm pretty sure they're well aware of Amy's influences.

Elvis' music wasn't original. The Beatles' music wasn't original. MJ's music wasn't original. Madonna's music wasn't original. Nothing is created in the mainstream, it's always created by alternative acts, and usually lesser known alternative acts at that. Thus there is no point in demeaning Amy for not reinventing the wheel. It's irrelevant.

tick tock, let me inform u about a couple of facts
the only reason the likes of adele and duffy were given the opportunity to sign record contracts was because the music industry smelled cash on the absence of amy who, mind u, was 100 times inferior as a vocalist and as a fully formed artist than those bitches will ever evolve to. if amy was ok enough to release an album equivalent to back to black shortly thereafter, adele would have never enjoyed those current mega sales. the adele phenomenon relies to amy being absent, anyone with a right mind can comprehend this.
amy has always been this extraordinary talented and influential artist, and that's why people were agonizing over her personal issues. the rest of her mimes may sell as much as they do, yet they cannot compete with her cause she was one of a kind. a fuckin legend even before her death and on the back of a sole album, yes, she was that magnificent.

btw, u're such a cunt it's depressing for your own right.

This is downright weird.

In one final bizarre photo op with Amy Winehouse, the singer's former bodyguards posed with a box containing Amy's ashes as they left the crematorium in London earlier today...a family rep confirms to TMZ.
